Kid Gets Tasered @ My School

Recommended Posts

I haven't found the footage yet because I am at work and can't access YouTube and other sites, but there is supposed to be footage of him doing other stunts like standing outside a bookstore when Harry Potter was released with a big sign saying "Harry Dies". From Newsday:Andrew Meyer has his own Web site and it contains several "comedy" videos that he appears in. In one, he stands in a street with a sign that says "Harry Dies" after the latest Harry Potter book was released. In another, he acts like a drunk while trying to pick up a woman in a bar. If you google his name it links to his personal website with more stunts like this. The kid is an attention whore and a professional a s s hole. He traded a taser shot for his 15 minutes. He wasn't even asking a question. He was berating Kerry for conceding the election on the day and not fighting it out in court.

In that situation, I agree that in a perfect world, they would've simply cuffed him and hauled him off, but todays cops are pussies. We are presently in this bizarre netherworld with Law Enforcement where the "officers" we hire are neither the hard-assed roughnecks of years ago (due to liability reasons) or the thinking, competent, refined officers that we would like to see (due to the pay scale). What we wind up with are lesbians, chip-on-the-shoulder douchebags, short-man syndrome cases, mouth breathing retards and idiots who think that the badge defines who they are, rather than who they are is what defines the badge. As long as this is what we have to work with, I would MUCH rather see them using tasers than batons and firearms.
Don't agree with you a lot, but I completely agree with this.

In case there is any doubt as to his intentions to get arrested, here's a longer version of the video that shows what happens after they take him out of the room. The police are acting completely professionally, asking him to calm down, and he just goes more and more insane, ranting about nonsense. He should be locked away and medicated. If When he makes money off this, it will be a sad day for this country. He's not a persecuted hero, he's just a dickhead with a big mouth who doesn't know when to shut up and show some respect.

Nothing like a dose of tazer. How can anyone speak in public like that and not expect to get a few volts buzzed through them??
i would imagine the first amendment protects that type of behaviorbut thats just me

Kerry actually voted for the cops to taze the kid before he voted against it
lolI didn't know what this statement meant then and I don't know what it means now, but it's still funny.

I'm about as anti authority as you can get, but free speech does not give you the right to disturb a peaceful gathering, refuse to leave when requested by police, and then resist arrest. He got what he wanted, a video of himself on YouTube being an idiot.
QFT, he was only trying to be an attention whore. I heard more about it this morning and he was totally cooperative once the cameras were off of him. He got what he deserved, if anything he should have gotten it sooner instead of when he was already on the ground.

Fighting Words and Other Threats to the Peace .--In Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire, 95 the Court unanimously sustained a conviction under a statute proscribing ''any offensive, derisive, or annoying word'' addressed to any person in a public place under the state court's interpretation of the statute as being limited to ''fighting words''-- i.e., to ''words . . . [which] have a direct tendency to cause acts of violence by the person to whom, individually, the remark is addressed.'' The statute was sustained as ''narrowly drawn and limited to define and punish specific conduct lying within the domain of state power, the use in a public place of words likely to cause a breach of the peace.'' 96 The case is best known for Justice Murphy's famous dictum. ''t is well understood that the right of free speech is not absolute at all times and under all circumstances. There are certain well-defined and narrowly limited classes of speech, the prevention and punishment of which have never been thought to raise any Constitutional problem. These include the lewd and obscene, the profane, the libelous, and the insulting or 'fighting' words--those which by their very utterance inflict injury or tend to incite an immediate breach of the peace. It has been well observed that such utterances are no essential part of any exposition of ideas, and are of such slight social value as a step to truth that any benefit that may be derived from them is clearly outweighed by the social interest in order and morality.'' 97 link
