pezeveng 207
I saw in the article that 43 fatalities blamed on this storm so far. Very sad news for alot of families. I think they should just close off highways when a storm of this magnitude hits.

pezeveng 207
To protect the general public from...themselves?Sometimes its necessary as people don't know any better. Iam not saying for every little snowstorm more of those big ones where you know in advance its coming. They always wait till that 30 car pileup happens than they close it down. bdc30 0
This will be hard to believe for some (I know I was like "wtf" for the first little while), but even closing roads doesn't stop people from driving on them. Since about all the roads dept can do (same guys responsible for opening and closing roads are pretty much always the same guys that run the snow removal equipment) is put up those wooden barricade things, people just drive around them all the time. Then they phone 911 when they get stuck in snow. Blows my mind that people can be that self-absorbed.

They had one cop car at each end and weren't allowing anyone through. I weighed the option of driving around the barricade and getting arrested against the option of turning around. It took about 2 hours to get back home.

pezeveng 207
More than snow storms its the fog that causes the worst of pile up. bdc living close to the Winsdor-London corridor you should know what I mean, Once a year you get fog that causes havoc.
bdc30 0
yep, we've had a couple just brutal pileups. I drive the 401 120km total every day and I have to say, it's not the weather that "causes" any of these accidents. People just don't adjust their driving habits - at all...no matter what the weather does. In dense fog, blinding snow, whatever -- I'm still getting passed by 18 wheelers like I'm standing still. serge 904
Leafs will honour Brendan with a moment of silence tonight...Look for the Leafs to play an inspired game.Tough test but if we play like last night(without the disastrous finish) , we will win a lot of games with this lineup. pezeveng 207
Leaf fans don't feel bad the Mighty Red Wings just blew a 3-0 lead. They still have a chance to win 3rd period upcoming but I think LA keeps the streak alive.

pezeveng 207
Great game from start to end. Iam torn as to whats best for the goaltending situation. If the Monster is benched will he want to re-sign? JS is playing great and Iam sure extremely well rested. What to do what to do.
bdc30 0
I read on TSN that Boston's shopping around Timmy Thomas -- maybe they could let the Monster go and package the 2011/2012 first rounders for him?
