My only goal is to play at least 100 $11 SNG's. I know I can beat them, so hopefully if I actually put in some time the profit will come.
You're about 3 weeks too late. You could have got involved in bdc30's challenge.

Terrible first week, my first 2 days were awesome, but then from there its been a downward spiral. Im still up 185 on the month but it's way below where I wanted to be at this point

Oh Sundays...I hate you so very much. 0/8 in MTTs today for -$920. However, my cash game may finally be turning around as I pulled +$1050 in a few hours at 2/3 and 3/6.

September goal -- 15-20k hands, 5bb/100 - $375-500 total profit, plus rakeback.
Some things I've learned this month : -- 600bb downswings suck - BUT - they do make you appreciate the importance of decent br management.-- having "iggymcfly" type days helps0909totalqe0.jpg(nice to post an "iggy-like" graph for a change)and back on track for month to date:0909totalmtdze6.jpg

Just started playing again. Sadly I took a major withdrawal from my bankroll for a business venture. By major, I mean all of it. I have about 2,000 to work with and have to rebuild. Oh the joys...I only have about $600 put into my stars account. So I have been grinding out the $1/$2 limit games. My goals are to win about $800 on 1/2 and 2/4 then move up to 3/6 by the end of the month. I hope to average about 750 hands a day. I wish I could play more, but who would of thought that starting a company would be soo damn time consuming :club:.So far the month has been horrible, but I think I can still make my goals with the small volume I have time to play.

I would go for FTP for the rakeback.
Thats what I ended up doing. Figured rakeback at low limits trumps and PS points you can earn. I am hoping that by playing limit 6max (lol) and full ring I can avoid the br tilting off style tilts that are killing me at nl. Put in about 350 hands today and ended up 11BB. Good start..I am a bit rusty at limit and 6 max especially so I need to get lots of hands in.

So I am up about 2k this week, and I soon should do what I've been dreading (withdraw more), just so that I can be more realistic in the limits I can play and what my total roll is. Including W$ (at 90% of value lol) I have about 11k online, but I'm gonna take off about 3k which means I shouldn't play 109s for a bit. Also I'm gonna play at least the $530 PLO wcoop. I took a couple of "shots" on Sunday in the warmup and million, to no avail. I feel like I've really gotta be fucking due for a win - I keep being the final table bubble boy, or getting deep and losing a big coinflip for the chiplead or w/e. Anyways at least I've had some reasonable cashes this week to make up losses. I have made two final tables but obviously not in the tournaments that I want to win (if I could choose :club:). I came third in a PLO on ftp, and then 6th in a $33 turbo freezout on stars practically by accident. Also........................my Wii came in the mail today!!!!!

Well, it finally happened. I busted my Stars account. Here's my graph of the last day. It actually took me 12 hours to play all the hands as I started 1 and 2-tabling as my money got really low.bustoaw3.jpgIt's not just BR management that failed me though as I really just haven't been winning lately. Here's my graph in BB for the last month which shows that not only am I losing over a 30-day period, but I'm actually in a 25 buy-in downswing too.isuckcj9.jpgNot really sure what to do now. I still have 2K in my sports betting accounts and a $1900 check from Stars sitting in my room that I haven't cashed yet, so it's not like I'm broke, but if I'm not even beating the PLO games, WTF's the point? I'm certainly not in a position where I'd do better with any other game right now. No idea what I should be doing long-term to make money. A job sounds super-unattractive. I wish the Stars games were as fishy as the old games on Bodog.

Sigh. I hate to say it, but did anyone not see this coming? You're such a talented guy Igz, how do you have the stomach to keep doing this to yourself? Something Budbundy said to me when I was down to my last $50 on ft was that the most important thing in poker is staying in the action. No matter what. A job certainly wouldn't hurt man. Get your 4k together, start at a proper limit and STAY there until you have the correct roll to move up. Put out some resumes. Get a steady income. Put in the time. Jobs + Benefits + Pension = ++++++++ev. Sure you won't play 75k hands in a month, but there will always be money coming in.

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
****Also the thing you don't understand is Bankroll Management is for losing days/weeks/months. You manage your bankroll properly so you can still stay in the action during or at the end of a losing streak. Who needs bankroll management while you are running hot and winning?25 buyins are a lot for a downswing to be honest. You must have some leaks in your game to cause that.If i knew you d do it , i d say ;Go through the hands and figure your leaks , don't deny them.Take that 1900$ out of sports betting and put it in your poker account.Start playing 50$ PLO not 100$ PLO. That 20 buy-in rule is bullshit for Omaha. It is never enough. Also playing with a big roll is vital to prevent major tilt. You can easily make 1.5k $ plus rakeback in one month at 50$ PLO.You want to move up in limits like every thursday. Take it slow for a while.

Well, my tentative plan for now is to take my FPPs (I've got about 50,000) and play WCOOP satellites to win $T, then play HU PLO SnGs to convert the $T to cash and go back to 50PLO for a while. My winrate was way better on 0.5/1 and below than it was when I started playing 1/2 and above anyway. (17 PTBB/100 vs. 1 PTBB/100 to be exact). Also, I'm pretty sure my biggest leak is just not paying attention. When I'm playing 1/2, 90% of the time I'm reading or posting on 2+2 and only looking at my tables for a second or so when they pop up. I can't count how many times I've said "oops, there were 4 players in the hand there?" or "shit, I wouldn't have 3-bet if I noticed he was a 45/3". The only time I really focus is when I tilt and start playing higher limits. I need to just say absolutely, that I'm not going to ever have Firefox open when I'm playing unless it's to quickly check the equity of a hand on twodimes. The idea of having a notebook with me and writing down the hand whenever I make a questionable play worked when I did it too, but I only ever did it for a couple sessions before getting bored with the idea. Also, the tilt thing's true too. When I was playing with 30+ BI, I was hardly ever tilting (which is probably my #2 leak) and was just generally playing a lot better, but as soon as I started trying to add in some 2/4 tables, I started to get antsy whenever I'd get down a couple buy-ins, and it definitely made it harder to release hands and give up bluffs once I was invested in a pot. Anyway, I'll have to make a whole plan for how to deal with bankroll when I'm playing again and how to keep myself focused, but I'm not going to worry about that for a couple days. I'm not going to have anything to do with poker again until at least Thursday night.

Wow I even got the Thursday thing right.I have you all figured buddy. Don't ever sit across me on a poker table. I ll crush you.*************ssbk5.jpgMaybe less than half of it from bad luck.Probably more than half of it from retarded plays by me.

Iggy, it's time to take a break from PLO(not because you lack theoretical knowhow). The big-bet stack game is not agreeing with your current compulsive nature right now.I know you won't but here's a couple of suggestions.1) get a little job that pays your basics, or a well-paid job if you can.2) learn stud8 and play the 5/10, 10/20 until you are ready for the 30/60 Stars game.

Well last three sessions went like this. Saturday night 2-10 spread limit holdem +10 and later that night I joined a 3-20 spread hold'em game +30 (such weak ass wins. pretty much break even.) and yesterday -128 in a 2-10 holdem game. Those look and are terrible numbers but theres reasons behind them. In the 3-20 game I was up over 200 when I misplayed KK and lost to JJ when he caught a straight. If I played the hand right I still would have lost and probably lost more but at least I know that I got money in when I was a big favorite. I ended up losing around 100 on the hand and the very next hand I completely misread my opponents hand and lost 70 on it. After that I decided I'm not playing my A game and got up from the table and left with a +30 profit. I think it was the right decision but who knows?Yesterday in a soft 2-10 game I was up a small amount, around 30 when the table broke down except for me and this kid who regularly plays blackjack. I asked if he wanted to play heads up because I knew I could stack him and it'd be easy money, after all, he plays blackjack, not poker. The match starts out with me sitting on 230 and him on 160 the first hand we play I win a monster pot with trip 10's. After that it was like slow torture for the kid. I won 3/4 pots and he was visibly demoralized. In minutes he was down to his last 28 dollars and I felt invincible.I raised from the button to $8 with A7os and he calls, the flop is As 4s 6s and he leads out and bets $8, I raise to $18 and he goes all in, I call. He flips over Qs7h for the Q high flush draw. He gets there on the turn and I think "oh well, I'll get him in a few minutes" but after that I could not make so much as a pair and the kid was on such a sick rush. It's impossible to bluff someone off top pair in a heads up match and it seemed like he connected with the board every hand. It was just sick. He got me down to my last 100 before I made a comeback to get to 151. Then the floor man came over and said hes going to stop the match and wait till we get more players.I'm steaming because the kid just went on a sick rush and right when momentum swings my way again the match breaks up. Well I didn't want to book the loss (mistake) so I waited around till the next game got going. Nothing went right in the next game (poor plays, not getting paid off on big hands, bricked draws) and I left the casino with $72 of my original 200. Blah!So today I'm taking the day off and from Wednesday to Sunday I'll be in Walker for the Heartland Poker Tour and If I do poorly there I will almost surely not make my September goals so wish me luck.

It's not just BR management that failed me though as I really just haven't been winning lately.
Dude, I'm a little vague on your wording here...you may be saying that you failed with BR management again. If so, ignore the next bit. However, it strongly comes across as BR management failing to save you from going busto. In which case, that's BS. If you practice proper BR management and you have an inkling of poker skill, you will never go bust. We know you have more than an inkling. The problem is that you don't have any discipline. Please feel the collective weight of the forum's scorn the next time you decide to play outside of your BR.
