Stupid Things You've Seen

This is my favorite. Playing 10/20NL at the Bellagio, I call a button raise to 60 preflop from the BB with :):D, everyone else folded exept button and blinds. The flop is: :D:):DTurn: :club:River: :card_hearts_4:It gets checked all the way through the river. After the river checks through, the dealer asks to see the hands. I proundly show my K9 (I'm playing the board) and the other two players insta-muck.As the dealer pushed me the pot I could tell he was having a tough time not laughing. :D

This just happened this past Monday at a bar league game ...100% TRUE STORY, I was at the table.New guy that no one knew.Long story short, UTG preflop raises, gets a couple callers including new guy. The Raiser makes continuation bet and only the new guy calls. I dont remember exactly how the cards came out, but the turn double paired the board TT33 and the river put a flush out there with the 5, making 3 hearts.Every street, flop, turn, and RIVER, the original raiser made between half to pot size bets. The last bet the guy bet like T1800 and the new guy only had about T2100 total. The new guy CALLLLLLLLLLS the bet then instamucks saying he only had J high. Yes, he called and mucked before he ever even saw what the raiser/better had. You dont see the bluff call instamuck move too often, but when it rears its head it is certainly a table topic for the rest of the evening.

I've also played 10-20 w/James Woods, and he really is as terrible as he sounds. He takes ridiculous lines that make no sense and plays a brand of poker that includes aggressive call downs and bold moves ala Vanessa Rousso. He is a really cool guy though and great for the game, and always has a hot chick on his arm, so no one says anything.
I think we need a 'Dumbest things you've seen James Woods do' thread, because I too have witnessed him at my table making insanely dumb moves, just so he can show his hot 20 year old how cool he is because he can bluff the table.Mark

I got the best one hands down AINEC:James woods, Looshle, and I are playing 10/20 nl at commerce.Don't know preflop action, but Woods ends up OOP on the flop and leads like 200 with like 2.5k behind, guy makes it 700 on a 5s6sQd board (or something similar to that).James Woods thinks for ever and flips over his cards, shows 7s3s I say "ooo tight laydown" he says "no no no, I'm not folding........................I call"Turn is a brick 10h or something.... woods checks, other guy OBBBBBV moves all in, for about the 1800 Woods had behind...after some thinking, James calls, the other guy shows two pair and Woods spikes the river and starts dancing around like an idiot yelling with his GF. He racks up 2 hands later and leaves. Nice face.
LOL ... all class.

I flopped quads tonight in a tourney. Dude was leading into me the whole hand and I raised all in on the river. The pot was over 6700.It was 10 more chips for him to call.he folded
$2/$5 NL game, both players have about $800. Big bet PF, big flop bet, big turn bet, and both players have ended up with a couple chips behind at the river - pretty much all in. River card hits, player A throws his last $20 in. Player B flips over his unpaired A high nut flush draw, mucks it, picks up his last $8 and walks away. Player A sits quietly for a minute ... waits for player B to get a few steps away, assures that player B's cards are officialy mucked, flips over an unpaired K high flush draw and starts happy stacking.

Just yesterday:I pick up AA from UTG. I limp. Someone in middle position raises, gets 2 callers. I re-raise a good amount, the initial raiser calls, the other two fold. I was shortstacked so the flop comes 6 6 10 rainbow. I go ahead and push all in, the initial raiser goes ahead, thinks for a while, and then calls with Q9...Q HIGH?I hope I get to play with him more often lol

I can't remember the exact details, but I had AJ on an AA443 boardI bet the river and my opponent says "call" after about 20 seconds and tables 22.Someone asked him why he called, telling him he had nothing and played the boardDonk answers back: "Well, I put him on nothing too."
So he put you on 23 or the another 22? lol. I agree. Winner.

I'm sure he's thinking the same thing of a guy who limps UTG with AA.

Does he look really old in real life?

Yep. That would be the correct procedure. "I Fold" trumps the action following it. The dealer was wrong.
He said "I fold" pretty much as the chips hit the felt. It was simultaneous. The forward motion of the chips came a little before him saying "I fold." So it's a shove.

At Sarnia 5/10 Limit game.Flop comes QQA........capped betting.....heads up for turnTurn makes it QQQA......Both guys continue to raise in $10 increments for 10 min til there is a stack of both players chips in the middle. It took at least 40 raises to get in all inWhile this is going on....both 10/20 games have stopped and are ready to snap if they see both guys have queens. Cards:Player 1-QKPlayer 2-AKWTF???I had to take a walk for 5 min so I could laugh my ass off.....and much to my surprise.....Player 2 had rebought for 300 by the time I got back :club:

£30 ($60) Tournament in Blackpool, UK about 2 years ago, 1 guy on my table thought that "blinds" meant he had to play the entire hand withouth seeing his hole cards. Somehow this illusion lasted for about 30 minutes before someone pointed out how stupid he was.

About 2 years ago at the Aladdin poker room on a 3-6 game I saw 2 players go 17 bets on the river of a AT29A board.Player 1 holds A4Player 2 holds A5for a chopped pot!About 2 weeks ago on a 1-2nl game player 1 makes a small raise preflop and gets 1 caller. Flop comes out 10-7-2 rainbow player 1 makes a continuation bet and player 2 puts him all in. Player 1 says he thinks he's beat but he can't lay it down and finally calls. Player 2 flips over KT off for top pair and player 1 insta mucks. One of the players told him he still had the turn and the river to see and he says he was drawing dead anyway and leaves.

About 2 years ago at an underground club in NY:I wasn't involved in the hand, but after the flop it's heads up. Bets, raises, calls, etc...the action to the river doesn't matter. The river puts broadway on the board with no flush possibility. Player one moves all in. Player 2 goes into the tank. 1 minute. 2 minutes. Everyone at the table is completely silent and just looking at player 2 who is still staring at the board. Finally somebody calls the clock on him. Player 2 mucks.

1/2 NL underground...guy next to me is rather drunk, young baller kid, who kept talking about HSP all nighton a 99JX board, with two diamonds. It's late i have KdQd and i am up big so i feel like gambling, he jams the turn, i tank it...i'm pretty sure he has a naked nine, maybe something like A9 K9...so i start talkingand tell him, you know what i'll call you, but do you want to do what they do on that show and run the river twice? (it was a big pot, prolly 6 or 7 hundred), he says SURE" that'd be cool!! he flips up a9 no diamond. blank the first river, then river a diamond on the second river...there was about 150 dead money in that pot as well.as soon as i hit he was like "oh why'd i do that"

dealer is dealing cards..i get K....goes around and he deals me another K only it flips over and EVERYONE see's it.I think sh1t the hand is dead. But everyone agree's that if we put the dead K back at the bottom of the deck we can continue the hand. I proceed to give back the WRONG K because im so nervous (first time at a casino, In Alberta) people kind of start flipping out, because it was pretty obvious, one was Red one was Black. /story
WHAT? Everyone agrees? Was this a real casino? The hand is not dead, but the card is dead and is the first burn card. No questions about that. The poker table is not a democracy. The dealer needs to run his table.

I have seen some cases where you have to say "I'm playing the board". But, NICE!

I've barely played live at all, but have a couple of them.#1) 1/2 NL, Player 1 tries to go all-in preflop for about $18, but accidentally leaves one chip behind. He gets two callers for a $50-something dollar pot. On the flop he pushes his last $1 chip in, 1st players calls, second player folds. Not quite an open-farell, but pretty close.#2) Same 1/2 game, I flop the King high flush, make a pot-sized raise. Player 2 starts talking and thinking, and says "wow, that really put me in a tough spot", so I figure he's either got a smaller made flush or the naked ace. I want to thank him for letting me know he doesn't have me beat (he wasn't clever enough to be snowing me). He thinks for a long time, and calls, I push him all in on the turn, he calls and flips up the Q of that suit, x of another suit. Yeah, he donked off his stack chasing the Q high flush.#3) One of the first hands I see at a 1/2 NL table. Two players in the hand, flop is AAQ, two hearts. Lots of betting back and forth. Turn is Q, lots of betting. River is a heart, player 1 pushes all in, player 2 insta-calls. Player 1 has an ace, player two has two low hearts for the flush. Guess he didn't believe that player one had either an A or Q on that board and was totally bluffing.
