I needed a break from the forum life for a while. I now work in the BBQ biz so I don't have nearly the amount of time in front of a computer as I use to. It is good to be back. Whats been going on with everyone?

Well the forum has changed a lot since the big fallout. If you don't know, a ton of people started a new forum headed by Rdog. This place has been dead. I think I only have 50 posts in the last 4 months and most of them are in the hockey forum. Poker has been really mentally draining on me lately. I have had 5 consecutive losing/break even months for the first time in around 3 years. The beats have led to bad play and equated into losing a ton of extra buyins. As you know i just played to supplement my income and that hasn't been happening and i need the cash since my wife is in grad school. I lost a 300 bb pot yesterday flopping top set vs middle set when he rivered quads. Thats pretty much how i run. Can't hit a flush, straight but also can't dodge the draws. I've been frustrated and started playing a ton of XBox and golfing 3x a week.Glad to see you around i even sent you a PM or two just to make sure you were alive. Hopefully this thread gets back up and running..

I am sorry to hear about the run bad I had a lot of that going on for a while it really sucks when you are going through it. I am currently working on playing more live. It is tough to get in the hours with the sun shinning outside.As for the BBQ thing I am a catering manager for a famous place here in Somerville (just north of Boston) and it is going good although I have to work when everyone else is playing poker. So I have been Hey Dice, what are you BBQing? I can hook you up with some good recipes. Make sure you use hickory wood. Good luck with the Pens tonight I hope they pull it out.Also I am on Skype wayyyy more than AIM everyone should get on that, makes playing poker so much less of a grind if you can bitch and moan to someone.Krup lets work out a time for me to sweat you and see if there are any leaks we can fix and possibly I can learn something

I just bought a Char King Grill with the attachable smoke box. I need to finish putting it together tonight so I can season the grill and cast iron grates. I'm doing 4 racks of ribs and either a brisket or a couple chickens.

get a flat cut brisket. * 4 teaspoons paprika * 2 teaspoons salt * 2 teaspoons garlic powder * 2 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper * 1 teaspoons cayenne You can adjust the cayenne for how hot you like it. Rub it with that put it on the BBQ 225 for 8 hours, i also use that for the ribs but they will take 4-5.

Leveling aside... apparently if I had gotten a State sentence instead of county life, it really would have been like a vacation after I got through the 3 month intake process. I met quite a few people both from upstate prisons and started writing those who were shipped up in the middle of my bid.I got pretty hosed as far as where I was housed. Since one of my charges "involved a minor" I was placed on Protective Custody despite all my protests. My charges were finished when I arrived at the jail... which is something I did not see of a single inmate besides myself my whole bid. Anywho, I was placed on the Maximum Security Unit, Unit-10 on the PC block. I was not housed in the pre-release a.k.a. DUI building even though that was originally the plan. What that basically meant was I got a maximum of 6 and a half hours rec time per day, and usually we'd get hosed down to 3 or sometimes none. We constantly ate inside the cells on that unit, though occasionally we'd have a meal out. When we were out, we were not allowed outside the block, though the other units can all intermingle amongst not only the other blocks on their unit, but other units as well...There's way too much to dive into any great detail at the moment. I did write a journal, though I doubt I"ll get to the task of making it all electronicy anytime soon. The lifestyle change is immense and I'm actually surprised how quickly I"m jumping back into my old cyber lifestyle as I was released only 12 hours ago. I have never known boredom, anger, hate, and anxiety like I have just experienced from this place. Constantly being locked down with pedophiles and murderers who had dinosaur brains was extremely difficult because I do have, arrogance aside, a rather strong intellect. The next-smartest inmate to myself that I met the entire time I was there had to ask me how to spell the word caught just yesterday (he spelled it cought... and also spelled blame blam). I was allowed to have poker books sent in and I did do a bit of reading to keep myself semi-updated, but I fear I'm out of touch with the game. I was able to play some poker here and there, but the stakes would only be a couple of ramen soups and they'd play retarded games like baseball and follow the queen and criss cross so consistently because holdem was "boring". When we did play holdem it usually involved one of the streets being wild. Still... since I was playing people with dinosaur brains I was able to crush them consistently... and if I didn't already have everything money could buy in that jail, I could have hustled it playing cards. That being said, I was afraid I was dulling my blades by playing these poker games and instead switched my gaming focus onto chess. I'm amazed at how well some of these dinos played chess... I mean, they were people who had been upstate a decade or more and that's pretty much all they did with their life... but I don't understand how you can think 5 to 6 moves deep in chess but be unable to spell three letter words.I haven't slept since I've been released. I spent the final week blindfolded in my cell blasting the walkman for most the day... i was waiting for my discharge which was late because my release date was June 2nd and well... you look at the time stamp. Ugh, it's crazy... the only way I got through the bitch was to rip on people consistently throughout the day. I'm thinking of recording a comedy album just about the characters I met in there and call it 101 Pedophiles. Oh, I spent X-mas locked in the entire 24 hours with a man who admittedly raped an 8 year old girl. So hard not to catch a murder case. So hard.

It is beyond annoying... but unfortunately that's not why I was locked up. The girl filed rape charges (technically IDSI [involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse] since we never actually had sex) against me saying I used the alcohol we were drinking as a method of coercion, and that she was incapacitated when the incident occurred. They also seized my computer in an attempt to prove that I was researching date rape drugs... that failed, but during their search they found "child pornography" claiming some of the porn I was looking at had girls that were too young. There was some damning shit in my cache because I was a /b/tard over at 4chan.It's embarrassing and people do treat me as if I am a child predator... but I'm not going to cry the poor me crap anymore because after being locked up with some of these scumbags, I do not mind taking a hit if it increases the number of them that get put away.So... I'm an evil evil man... spawn of Satan etc.
