I currently have a warrant out for my arrest because I did not take the alcohol lessons required by my probation...... when my probation was supposed to be up i shipped $1k to them and they sent it back saying I did not follow my probation guidelines or show up for court ( i did not receive letter) Scary they wouldnt accept the money I had to paya warrant has been out for my arrest since Feb and it kind of sucks.....I havent done anything errrrrrr caught for anything since the initial infraction but I risk getting arrested everytime I get into my car.......I tend to avoid court and/or authority figures so I havent adressed this yet but im thinking I may need to soon.am I in deep chit is basically what im asking.

no, i don't think you have anything to worry about, but you should probably ask the next policeman you see to be sure, as IANAL.

Dude, we've talked on AIM. You know what I do for a living. My advice to you is this. The courts will look a lot more highly upon someone that "manned up" so to speak and turned themselves in, owned up, made retribution and got the problem dealt with than they will for someone who has remained unlawfully at large for a period of time, eating up law enforcement resources and having to have been "caught" which you eventually will be.Here's what I suggest doing. Go to your local police station. Tell them who you are, and that you've heard there is a warrant out for you, and you think there is some confusion and want to get it sorted out. When they arrest you (which they will) you'll have to go in front of a judge. Plead ignorance, say you fked up, forgot about your alcohol course, whatever, but make it apparent that YOU turned yourself in when you found out about the warrant and are on the right track and just want to get all this squared away. They will work with you. If you make them catch you, trust me, the court won't much care what you have to say, and you'll face a lot stiffer penalty.

no no, ouch is right here. there's really nothing to worry about. they don't usually take these things seriously. I suggest you just forget the whole incident and it will go away. I'm sure this will work.please post updates.

Yeah, what he said. I think that when judges issue sentencing orders, they don't REALLY mean them. They look at it more like a suggestion, than a real ORDER. They don't mind if people don't take them seriously. They think it's kind of cute when people violate the conditions of their probation. Those darn silly criminals! hehe. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

LOLZI just pictured a judge writing out sentencing orders with a pink gel pen and putting smily faces above the "i's".Or the conversation...."Now, Mr. FWP if you can fit in your schedule... would you complete some courses and pay your fine on time? If not.... no biggie. Get to to it when ya can."

Turn yourself in and get it over with. Either that or you wait and risk a worse punishment.Good luck (seriously)

Really want my opinion on this...?...here it is anyway. No one actively seeks out Court and/or Authority Figures, this goes beyond that. This is just more avoidance of responsibility and hoping bad things will go away. Actions have consequences, yours are beginning to catch up to you.Good luck on the continued Self Destruction.

BAHAHAHAHHHHAAAAAAA!!!!!Ok... I admit... when I make a humorous post (to me anyway), I always hope someone will enjoy it or even better, get into the act and use my post as a jumping off point to even greater humor. This is the be all, end all. It's just as I pictured it. And the checkboxes at the end? Priceless!

Brother you have obviously never been in jail because if you have you would so anything to make sure you never went back. For the crap you pulled you should have done time. To avoid doing time they gave you proby with a few terms and conditions. You care so little you couldn't even follow the t's & c's and now there is warrant for your ass. Man up. Take responsibilty for what you did (and didn't do). Scrape together some bail money. You might need a G. Have someone drive you to the police station and turn yourself in. Make sure you are wearing comfortable clothes and have eaten a decent meal because you will be getting locked up for a while. Probably overnight. Don't have the bail money on your person. Make your friend carry it. Any personal effects including money that you have on you will be confiscated at the time of your arrest and not returned until after you are released. If you have a lawyer, bring him with you. This is the best course of action to minimize the negatives of your situation. Unless of course you like prison and all the male butt sex you can handle.

This all reminds me of some of the tenants in my building. They know the rent is due on the first. They know there is a $25 late charge after the 5th of the month and another $25 late fee after the 10th of the month. If it is the 17th and I still don't hear from them I send them a letter and call them. Of course noone ever answers the phone or returns the phone call. Then after 7 days we file in court and they get sent court papers saying they need to be in court the next Thursday. Most ignore that and then when the eviction letter comes they start taking action. Why? Because they figure it will just go away if they ignore it. Oh how wrong they are.

Ground floor.OP, you'll be fine. Just keep blowing it off with the same reckless abandon you exhibit everywhere else and I'm sure you'll never hear about it again.Out of sight, out of mind, right?

Drive to Canada and take the next flight to the Caribbean. Spend a few weeks there. Then come back and turn yourself in.
Good luck crossing the border with an outstanding warrant......really looking forward to the follow up "I Just spent the night in Jail" ThreadPending arrest, additional court dates, attorney fees, probation, community service, possible jail time, fines, license suspensions/restrictions......all could have been avoided by just following the terms of his original court order (not to mention never having driven into a police car while drunk). And this guy CONTINUES to drive drunk and post about it.

I think that's why he suggested it.But better yet, succesfully cross the border and turn yourself in while in Canada.
