Tptk With Ako, Very Weird Play

This looked way too suspicious to me, I didn't want to waste any more money on the hand. Villain was 18.3/3.4/1.5 but not really any other specific reads. Yeah I think you are, but this is usually a line a relate to a set. However folding is incredibly tight.

The thing is, every time I'm in this kind of spot and call, villain overbets on the river, which I either call and lose or fold to anyway. I figure I'm saving myself some money by folding on the turn when villain is very likely to have a set.

I'm probably even raising here. Villain's range is too wide to fold being afraid of a set or two pair. He could be drawing to a flush, for all we know.

This is a really weird line that doesn't make much sense. Plus he's giving you a good price to call, I peel here and see what he does on the river, or raise to 2.50 and fold to a push. Either way I'm not folding, what is he representing? K7? 46? I'd think he'd go for a check raise with a set on a pretty safe board. It seems more like he's trying to get a cheap river card with a flush draw and maybe picked up a gutshot with it. Either way his bet isn't big enough to scare me off.

I just don't get why villain is c/cing the flop and then betting out on the turn, that play makes no sense to me unless he has a hand that is crushing mine (and even then it makes little sense, except as an aborted slowplay). If the bet on the turn is a blocking bet for a FD then why didn't he make one on the flop? If it's a weak king why would he wait until I showed aggression before making his own bet? The 7 isn't exactly a scary card so it doesn't seem like a float. It just seems like given that play there's very little I'm beating here. A river bet is inevitable so if I'm going to fold to that, why waste my money calling here?

donk bets confuse people.... people tend to lose their mind when their donk bet into. Some raise with trash thinking that it's such a stupid line that they can take you off a hand and some freeze up like little girls cause they can't figure out what's going on.

You've got position on him, so why make a blocking bet if he's not 100% sure you'll bet? It's all about pot control. You showed interest PF, so betting into you on the flop will probably end up getting raised. Now, by the turn, you've shown that you have a hand you'd like to bet out, so now a blocking bet is appropriate.

FYP, we can't fold to this kind of weak turn bet. Villian is nittish for sure but his bet is laying us great odds with a solid hand.

Looking back at it, I think my play this hand was a result of too much results-oriented thinking. When this hand happened, the last few times I had had TPTK or an overpair I lost a good bit of money with it (to other players), and was starting to get a bit shell-shocked. Folding there is definitely wrong though, and I now think raise/folding the turn and checking behind on the river (as someone else already mentioned) is the best play.

Calling two streets is fine too...Honestly there's a good argument to be made for thin value betting river if we're checked to in either scenario.

You have TOP TOP!It looks like he is trying to steal because he thinks you don't have a king. But then again, at those limits I could see him having 2 pair. Can't fold here. Call and re-evaluate on the river.Or raise to get him off his flush?

Definate raise. Folding is way too tight in this situation.I can see your logic in folding though, however I don't believe that's the correct course of action. If you raise and he still calls atleast you get some information and can fold if he bets the river again.
