Playing short stacked purposely, so not reload comments. Villian tight/weak but I sort of expected him to call with a weak jack a lot here. Is it still a good push in that case?Oh and I meant two overs in the title :club:

I like it. After you retake the lead on the flop checking the turn seems a bit weak. 1/3 of your stack is allready in at this point so I'd say go with it. We don't need to force a fold very often here to come out ahead against just a pair of jacks.

Well, I'm not a big fan of going allin K high after my opponent calls a pretty serious reraise on the flop. It looks like a pathetic attempt to get my opponent to fold on the turn, so I expect him to call with any pair. I think you played the hand fine preflop. I like small ball poker, so I would just call his pathetic bet on the flop, or reraise to around $2, expecting the call. On the turn, I can either take a free card, or reraise again, if I think he's got nothing. Then , if I want, I can fire a third bullet on the river or give up - I got options. If he's got an ace high flush draw...I guess it'll be one of those days if he hits. I don't care about what kind of odds I'm given him so much as controlling the size of the pot.

even if the villain calls our bet here every time with Jx, at worst it's a break even play. we'd also play an overpair or a set the exact same way here - if villain calls with Jx on the turn, we're going to eventually pwn him.

we don't have enough chips to play small ball poker in this hand

pot control is for when we have made handsTo the OP - I like everything about this hand.

The problem is, if he has a jack, its still the top card, and since he only has a pot size bet left, he may have already decided "screw it, I have top pair, I am calling." I like the flop raise, but after the villain calls and only has one pot sized bet left, I doubt he is folding to a non-scare card turn. Also, if checking the turn looks weak, then villain might bet into us even if we hit the river, or may pay us off, again since he only has a pot sized bet left.So I take the free card here.
