Ricer98 0
Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.10 BB (4 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FCP)SB ($12.16)Hero ($15.45)UTG ($7.45)Button ($12.76)Preflop: Hero is BB with J , 9 . 2 folds, SB raises to $0.45, Hero calls $0.35.Flop: ($0.90) 8 , 8 , 9 (2 players)SB bets $0.7, Hero raises to $1.5, SB calls $0.80.Turn: ($3.90) J (2 players)SB checks, Hero bets $3, SB bets $10.21(All-in), Hero ?????Not sure about this hand. Looking back I really don't like my flop raise. It's too small and allows too many hands to call, leaving me unsure where I stand. I guess shy of a 9 the turn is about as good a card as I can hope for but then I get check raised all in. As far as I could remember this was the first time the villian had raised me from the SB. I'd been playing very LAG in position, and TAG out of position. Not sure if the villian is aware of this or not but, either way I've easily been the most aggressive at the table. You're in bad shape versus an overpair or an eight, which makes sense given the action.
sabes99 0
you are correct in your assessment of your flop raise...either just call or make a bigger raise, but don't make a virtual minraise...in position in a heads-up pot with an aggressive image, i would raise and try to get him to maybe pay me off with 7-7, hoping obv that he had been paying attention to how i had been playing, but mostly to get two overcards to foldas played, what could he have? he hasn't raised from the SB heads-up against you all day, so all of a sudden does he come out of the woodwork and do this with 10-7? probably not...if he had Q-10 he would probably fold the flop, if he had A-8 or 9-9 he would probably check the flop...the hands to be worried about are J-J(would he raise the turn?) or a bigger overpair(would he play it this strangely?)the problem, though, is that you beat a bluff and a bluff only...even if the hands that beat don't make too much sense, neither do the ones that you beat...i fold and wait for a better opportunity
Ricer98 0
OMG, brain fart of the year. Totally overlooked that overpairs were still beating me because of the 88. I saw that I made two pair and actually thought I took the lead, even up until just now. Yeah, easy fold now.
