joethepro 0 Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 I can't say as I disagree with your assessment, but unless you are putting DH on specific hands check/calling or getting check/called with your holding on the turn and river are clear indicators you are beaten. Besides, if you're going to make a play with air, you're going to have to raise on one of the streets and you want to do that with enough chips to make the pot odds unattractive to your opponent, otherwise he's just going to call you down and win with any high card better than a J.-EV for effort, but I've been that guy a few times, myself.yah, i agree with you. after getting called on flop, i wrote in my other post, he should have given up on the hand, unless he had a strong draw, which he didn't. potatoman 0 Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 Assuming I'm playing my A game (not the C game that's been dogging me the last 3 weeks) I doubt you have an ace preflop and your action on the flop gives it away (betting out at a raiser on a very safe board - if you had an ace or trips, why wouldn't you just check). So I think you're first bet is a total bull. I would call. Since I put your first bet down as bull, it makes your other bets appear more suspicious.Fold this garbage preflop.If you want to try this play, either reraise preflop to make a steal more likely on the flop or turn or play it like you did, and if you see a flop like this, represent the ace by checking the flop and betting out on the turn. Some of the folks chatting during the tournament said that E Tyme was in fact the screen name of former World Champion Dan Harrington. During his broadcast Phil Hellmuth challenged E Tyme to identify the company that "Action" Dan runs. E TyMe gave the correct answer (Anchor Loans) and even referred to Hellmuth as "Phillip", which Phil said only Harrington does. However, it turned out that E Tyme ISN'T Dan Harrington. He called in and talked to Phil and Nick and said that someone started the rumor that he was Harrington, but he didn't know why. A friend watching him play game him the name of Harrington's company, and when Phil asked "Why did you call me Philip?", well, that turned out to be just one of those weird coincidences. E Tyme called in after he was knocked out by A_theKevlar_2, whose AK beat E Tyme's A-10. I honestly didnt post this because it was my only time playing a SO CALLED pro.... it was just crazy that he was calling my bets... but in hinsight I now understand that they were not strong enough.... they were all half bets..... In plhe I just started to play it more then ever.... and I still need to learn more from the tourney side of it... on the cash games I love plhe..... anyway guys thanks for the info...
