I don't think having unlimited moves without charging is fair to anyone. I'm sure there are people in the league that have actual jobs so those of us that are on the computer all day have a big advantage over everyone else if you don't do one or the other. FWIW, I have been in over 100 leagues probably and I have never been in a $$$$ league that did not do one or the other. You may not think it is a big deal now but trust me, when one person makes 10 moves a week, blocks you from picking up players (because of the Yahoo waiver wire), you won't like it. Not controlling the moves in one way or another could be a dealbreaker for me because like I said, being that drops are blocked for a few days on the waiver wire, the system could be completely manipulated by someone. If this were a $10 league I would care less but if we are putting in 200 bones each, it should be run fairly.
the amount of time spent on waivers can be adjusted by the commish. Default is two days, but I actually prefer it set to one altho either way is fine. I won't play in a league that charges for moves, a cap is fine as long as its not like 20 moves for the whole season. Remember players have bye weeks and sometimes you're forced to pick up another kicker just so you have one playing that week. There are also injuries, etc. We should agree before we get this going on the number of moves that will be capped for the season. I say 60, thoughts?

Okay, wait, you realize we are (at least I am), talking about pickups right? Obviously, making alterations to your lineup should be unlimited. I am talking about Pickups.

It would take some monitoring, but you could have a cap of free moves, and then charge for anything above that number. We also have a rule in place that anyone that gets picked up must remain on your roster for that week.I will still play in a 12 person league. I have to ship via paypal as I am online poor. PM me details of who I need to ship to once this is finalized..

I have done this before as well. And when we say "moves", we are talking pickups. And it wouldn't take monitoring because you can see how many pickups made at the end of the year.

yeh I understand what you mean, by moves, I meant add/drops as well. On yahoo they have the "moves" thing next to a teams name which indicates add/drops and trades I think. What do you think a fair number should be? I don't think 60 is high at all as there are 17 weeks.

60 is extremely high IMO. I mean, you might as well just have a draft of about 5 players per team. 60 is basically the equivalent of no cap because I don't think there is any way that someone uses that many. I mean, you have a bench to deal with injuries, byes, etc and use pickups as needed.

LMAO. Grossman, Grossman, Grossman, Grossman. I love Rex, DUCY?
NFC North is probably the weakest division in football, the East is much tougher. The Bears have a stronger defense and special teams. Offenses are probably close now with the addition of Olson and Hester. Bears won 13 games last year and only got stronger; and Grossman has one more yr of experience under his belt. Remember, this is a team game...so you are betting against the Bears b/c you think they have one bad player? With this one "bad" player they were still able to make the SuperBowl last year....Lets not forget Tony Romo isn't the second coming of Joe Montana.FWIW Bodog has the o/u on Cowboys wins at 9 and Bears at 10.5. gg EV. : )edit: yes the Bears lost Thomas Jones, but I feel more than comfortable with Benson.

I agree...I hate charging for manuvers. I also unlimted transactions is a good idea if regulated. Here's what I mean.If u limit each team to a certain number of total bench players (which is a given)....then U close all free agency on Saturday at Midnight...u run waivers on Tuesday. This way every owner gets a few days to see what has developed and gives worst team priority. (or we could run a bid system and once u run out of $$ u are out) Then....after that Free agency is open and all players are free agents EXCEPT the players who just got cut. At this point, any player who has just been dropped has to go into a 2 day holding tank. Thne u run a seperate waiver on Thurs for these players who got cut on Tues. Basically any decent free agent gets picked up on Tues. If an owner drops a decent player, then that player at least has a chance to be seen by other owners in this manner. After that, most pick ups are of the "who cares" variety. We are talking ugly players...and if people wanna waste all day on these guy so be it....especially in a 12 team league which it looks like we are leaning towards. With 2 types of waivers it's near impossible for someone to "beat people to the punch" just because they are online all day.

Oh, it isn't just Grossman, the Bears have had a rough offseason. I think everything fell in place for them last year. Grossman actually stayed healthy and played okay during the regular season. Won't happen again. I looked at what Bodog had on total wins but didn't figure asking for a vig would be worth scaring you off. Lets not forget, Sportsbooks don't put lines on what THEY think, they put them based on the public. Go figure, a returning Super Bowl team that won 13 games last year but is only down for 10.5 wins (a big plus number on the over on bodog BTW while the Cowboys are giving up a big vig on their over). BTW, if you calculate the vig, the numbers on Bodog are not that different for the 2 teams. And LMAO that Bears offense is close to Cowboys, LMAO.
