serge 904
this is going to be a bloodbathI know...in my favour....Ottawa finished 14 pts ahead of the leafs last year...The leafs were dessimated by injuries to key players....The leafs this year upgraded their goaltending situation, which cost them a lot of games last year..Also they added a 40 goal scorer in Blake and possible wild card in Bell(remains to be seen if he will contribute.)...They also added a Tony Salmanienen which doesnt seem like a big thing but he will surprise.....The Senators on the other hand added no significant players and lost Mike Comrie and Tom Preissing...Plus most teams that have a year like they did last year are due for a letdown...The leafs are better at goaltending....Better defensively and have closed the gap in the forward situation..If the Leafs stay healthy they will win the division...Enough said

serge 904
No you don't.I will go toe to toe with any beat reporter in the NHL that comments on the Leafs except for maybe Howard Berger...most of them are not very knowledgeable and all they do is try and create controversy by trying to make a story out of nowhere..... From thin air?????? lol Do you communicate telepathically with Rick Vaive? Or do you watch games on tv, listen to the radio, and read papers????Dont take it personally I wasnt attacking you at all....I am just trying to point out that most of these PROGNOSTICATORS in these magazines have no idea about the Leafs hockey club...As well a lot of reporters that cover the team have one purpose...That purpose is to create controversy where there isnt one....Here are a few examples...Larry Murphy was run out of town...why?because the few bad plays he made were MAGNIFIED into colossal errors and he was run out of town to win two Stanley Cups in Detroit..The Mccabe contract...The media has exaggerated this way too much...Mccabe is a great player at a decent contract..As well Pavel Kubina...Kubina is a good defenceman and its not his fault the market was $5 million when he signed a contract..Also the Leafs failure to win a cup in the last 40 years...The media is partly to blame for this...There is 30 teams in the league and ONLY one team can win the Stanley Cup every year...thats all for now

SilverSeven 0
Good to have you back Serge. The hockey forum just doesn't provide as much entertainment without you...You make *some* good points today, but the Leafs will not be a powerhouse in the East this year. They will still get systematically beaten up by the Sens, Habs and Sabres. You won't win your bets unless all hell breaks loose in Ottawa. We haven't added anybody and lost Comrie and Preissing ? Yeah, talk about destroying the core of our hockey club
