Know Of Any "hidden" Las Vegas Places Of Interest? Let Me Know, Too.

Recommended Posts

What I'm looking for are places that people might not know about, deals that might not get enough attention, and what-not. I'm heading out there from the 8th to the 14th, and I seem to remember hearing things about great steak dinners for like...$5 and other gems like that. Know of any great deals, things I have to see, and such? I've been there just once before, but I didn't really do a whole lot of exploring, and ate most of my meals in and around the MGM. I have yet to visit Fremont Street, and I'm thinking that a lot of hidden gems might be up there, as they'd want to go out of their way to lure tourists away from the newer casinos to the south. Obviously, these don't all have to revolve around food, so if you know of any, I'd appreciate it.

Well, as I'll be travelling with family, I'll probably have to do without both, although I wouldn't mind a female masseuse with frisky hands.Basically, if you know of anything of interest that's a particularly good deal, i'd like to hear about it.

Ellis Island Casino has a all night restaurant with really cheap food. It's a dump, but also karaoke every night, and food is decent enough. Service sucked when I went, but it was like $1.95 for biscuits and gravy, lol.

Spearmint Rhino is what he meant. Best strip club in Vegas. As for good deals, most the casino's downtown have much better prices than anything you can get on the strip. Also, many of the local hangouts such as the Station casino's have cheap and delicious buffets. Try out Sam's Town Firelight Buffet for lunch. Its like $6.99 and the food is great.

Only been to Sapphires, but there were no ugly girls in the place. So i dunno how it compares, but it was pretty nice. Biggest in the world too.

wow, i haven't been in a year or so, so the prices/specials might have changed, but here goes a few...binions late night steak dinner...great meal for the price..i think it was only 5-6 bucks. If you go down to the riv, they have a late night special too, it's like ham steak and eggs for 3.99, i think if you do the big slot pull promo on the way in, it's cheaper. if you're going site seeing, you have to do freemont, but go at night, the light show is actually pretty cool. Don't buy the footlong margaritas/daquries anywhere on the strip, unless you go to slotsofun, (just before circus circus) its a cheap dive of a casino(not even really a casino 50cent bj), but the drinks are a 3rd of the price of the bigger casinos. i normally stay at the riv(where our pool tourney is held), so i'm incredibly familiar with the dive end of the strip.we once had a really great meal at the las vegas club...it's on freemont. Crappy casino, but my friend went on tilt on a bj table so bad they paid $200 in comps for us for dinner. if you need cheap souvenirs, freemont street or the "dive" end of the strip all have cheappie places....nobody needs a$20 keychain. my bro did the helicopter ride said it was great...and pretty cheap.Make sure you visit...the fountains at bellagio, the talking statues at caesars, the pirates at TI ( i haven't seen the new one yet) all the normal touristy things. Eat the buffet at the bellagio, the cheesecake/dessert station alone is worth the 35 bucks...i hear the rio has a great seafood buffet (i don't eat it).if you want a cheap buffet, try the Main street station downtown, very good assortment of stuff, reasonably priced, but its been a while.find someone who owns a maserati and do the museum at the wynn....if you own one admission is free..check out the insides of some resorts (do the inside of the places, not the casino parts..)If you can (i think we snuck in), go into the luxor and ride the guest elevator to the top...its called an inclinator, do this drunk...and get out and look through the glass....its kinda neathave fun....so you may want to avoid half my suggestions...but if you're not going to gamble, but rather spend a vaca with the family, these are some ideas..if you can..(please don't flame, i am a girl)..catch celine dion at caesars....i didn't think it would be, but it's a great show and your wife/significant other will appreciate it.

Most folks don't go here, but try to get up top of the Stratosphere just before the lights get turned on the Strip. Incredible views for not a lot of money, good drinks up there too. Then you can test your nerve in the dark on the sick rides they have up there. :club:

I have seen a majority of the Vegas shows. Love is by far my favorite. If you are a Beatles fan, you absolutely MUST see this show.

Keep 'em coming, guys. I added 2 of the links I saw to my favorites so I can check them out later, but from what I saw, they looked helpful. And Riverrgirl, you had me until I saw Celine Dione :club: Sorry, but I'll pass. And I have a family member who's big into the Beatles, so that might be an option. I hear it's pricey, though.

i just got back from vegas. the pirates at t.i. wasn't that great of a show, and we had barely any room to move around in the outside heat. a fight broke out near me and my girlfriend...not cool. we did go to the excalibur tournament of kings show...got a deal at one of the 1/2 off ticket places. pretty decent show with dinner included. also worth paying $20 to take a gondola ride through the venetian. we also went to the grand canyon, but i'm assuming you're not messing with that. have fun and don't be afraid to wear sunblock. 108 degree dry heat, like it matters that it's dry when you can't breathe. have fun.
