Bad Beat Jackpot Odds

I'm not good with this sort of thing. Is there any way to figure out the odds of hitting a bad beat jackpot?At the local dog track, the qualifying hand is aces ful of jacks getting beat by four of a kind or better. The four of a kind has to be with a pocket pair and all cards have to play.

not good enough to worry about.but that sounds better than a lot of places where its quad 88 or better beaten under the same restrictions

I'm not trying to win the bad beat jackpot, I just want a statistical answer for when people act like I'm crazy for preferring a non-jackpot table (which is currently non-existent).

I don't know the odds. I do know that I'd always prefer playing at non-jackpot table. They rake a dollar more every hand and only have to redistribute 75% (Guess on the %) but they do it for the extra rake.

In California the entire jackpot rack needs to be paid out. That being said, I would rather waste my dollar on a lottery ticket. Both are such longshots to hit it isn't even worth calcualting payouts.

Aces full of jacks or better beaten by four-of-a-kind or better. If the winning hand is four-of-a-kind, then the hole cards must be a pocket pair. In all cases, both cards of the losing hand and both cards of the winning hand must be used.I'm at work right now, but will come back (probably tomorrow night, not tonight) to edit this post and fill in the answer.

One big advantage at jackpot tables, especially low limit ones, is that the people who are there just gambling are going to play more hands that have a shot at the jackpot. Its not uncommon to have players play any and all pairs for any number of bets (in LHE at least) preflop. Of course, this will increase variance because you will have more players seeing each flop and more bad beats, but pots will also be bigger from the loose preflop action created by players hoping to flop a jackpot hand.
