Official 2007 New England Patriots Thread

I love your confidence and frankly the Pats have earned it. I just watched that Pats Jets game and it seems like their offense can be stalled by weather.....ironic that home field advantage might not be a huge blessing for them.No way the Pats lose in the Super Bowl however.....in warm weather/dome....they are as close to unbeatable as any NFL team has ever been.
Honestly Cane, I don't think he understand how much of a factor weather can be.

I've been watching the Patriots play at home in bad weather my entire life. Do you know who else knows how much of a factor the weather can be? The Patiots coaches. I have a great deal of faith in them to create a gameplan that is right for whatever the weather is.

Because how the '94 Patriots did in bad weather at home is relevant here.
I knew some idiot would say that. Of course it means nothing to the current team...but he said that I might not know how weather would effect the game. I've been watching FOOTBALL in bad weather for years. I shouldn't have had to explain that to you.

and I shouldnt have to explain to you that the Patriots are the best passing team of all time and horrible weather makes passing impossible. I am well aware that Bill Belichick knows how to play in cold/windy/snowy weather. Nothing about that changes the fact that in a snowstorm, the Pats greatest strength is neutralized. Does that mean they WOULD lose in a snowstorm? No. Does it make it much much more likely? Yes. Would any team be hindered by outside factors that have a direct negative impact on their greatest asset? Yes. Is it ironic that having home-field advantage could have a direct negative impact on their chances of 19-0? Kinda. Are you following this logic train? Or should I use more mono-syballic words and whip up some visual aids?

Of course it would decrease their chances somewhat...its like raising the blinds in a poker tournament. Yes they're the greatest passing team in history and bad weather (specifically wind) would hinder long passes, but that is not the only way they can move the ball. You can say that Jacksonville has a better running game (which is arguable, the Patriots just haven't needed to use theirs much), but unfortunately for the Jags the runningbacks are not the only players on the field, and there are coaches who tell all those other players what to do.

looooooooooooooooool "I mean, the team with two all pro quality running backs and a bunch of plows for an offensive line that's got more rushing yards than any other team in the league (save Minnesota) JUST MIGHT be better than New England at running the ball, but IT'S VERY CLOSE and it's entirely possible that New England's running game turns out to be better..This is New England we're talking about.." So good.

I'm not a fan of the the Patriots, but I am happy that I witnessed a 16-0 team.
Exactly.Even for those of us who loathe the Patriots, I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't want to see them go undefeated. To me, that's one of the things that makes watching sports so wonderful. Seeing the "impossible" become possible. But it is going to be much tougher than most Patriot fans think (I'm talking to you Flush).Last night's game was a pefect example of why the Pats could have trouble with the Jags in a snowstorm.
