Zach6668 513
Yeah.I said this in the Pens thread, but, Thunder Bay boys know how to party. Why they'd go to Lutsen is beyond me, but it's still funny. They were apparently mooning the cars driving by...Bahahahahahaha!
ajs510 122
The fact that this is even a story tells you what great guys hockey players are. If they were NBA or NFL players this wouldn't even be news...lolCurran said the brothers were among several partygoers who went to bed when authorities first gave the group a warning, and when authorities returned to kick the entire party out of the resort, they first had to wake the Staals up. grocery_mony 8
If this is hockeys biggest off season scandal the NBA and NFL have a long way to go in player conduct. Just boys being boys.

Zach6668 513
They were in the States (Minnesota) at the time, though.Yeah, in the middle of nowhere, essentially. Basically an unpopulated area. I think this whole thing is blown out of proportion.

I think this whole thing is blown out of proportion. Its still bad publicity when at least one major Toronto Daily has mugshots on the front cover of their paper. Underage drinking for a professional hockey player is a big no no...I am sure it happens but if this was Crosby it would be even a bigger deal obviously.

digitalmonkey 929
why didn't just have the party in Canada?Perhaps it was a passport issue with the others.
Zach6668 513
Perhaps it was a passport issue with the others.I doubt that.My guess is most of the people there were friends of Eric from his pre-NHL days. You also don't need a passport to drive across the border (right?).Lutsen is like 2 hours from Thunder Bay, and it's common for people to rent rooms down there, etc. It can be fairly upscale as well, as I imagine Staal would have rented one of the suites or whatever.I still don't know why they'd go down there though, lol.My best guess: The cement slides. ajs510 122
Perhaps it was a passport issue with the others. No passport issues yet for getting back and forth to Canada, they pushed that deadline back after the huge run on passport applications.
gruven 530
I think the reason it was held in the states was simply a matter of getting out of your home town to play around and chase girls and drink.... it's a slight bit more likely for someone who knows your girlfriend to bump into you while you suck limes out of a strippers *** in your hometown... In the summer, they have these cement slides, like on the intro to Sesame St. (at least when I watched it). I'm not sure what would attract a group of 20 somethings there.
