NickTheKid 0
Get yourself a hot drink, it will work and get you something to focus on, take drinks inbetween folds and dont get nervous, just relax.

Nikki_N 17
I have terrible hand shakes when I play cards...and NO I don't drink any caffeine...Any helpful suggestions????If the shakes happen during good hands and bad hands alike, then besides the discomfort, it shouldn't be a problem.Shakes generally signal a good hand, so it might get other players to fold. Maybe they'll think you hit the monster streak of a lifetime. If you can do it without being too obvious, some deep slow breathing might help. Think about other stuff as much as you can. I find that early in a game, I feel cold, and I tremble a bit, like I'm chilly. I bring a sweater and drink warm stuff (I like coffee, but it may not help you due to the caffeine). After I get comfortable with the other players at the table, the cold feeling subsides.I guess what I'm saying is find a way to get relaxed and comfortable. Try to Zen out. Wingmaster05 0
You could be playing outside of your limits...i get more nervous then usual when i play at too high a limit. I also play better when i think to myself, "it's just a game". I'm good enough to realize that at the smaller limits i play, the money really isn't going to affect me in the long run. It's just most ill be able to spend in college (still a sr in HS!). With all the bad poker players out there, i figure to come close to even if i play bad and i should make money if i do well. For me poker is entertainment. Only with poker sometimes the entertainment pays back. Other hobbies don't have this benefit. 10 bucks to go to the movies. 20 for a birthday party. All enjoyment, but guarantee no money back. Just think the next time you blown a 20 dollar tourny (or whatever your limit is), have a bad day at the cash tables, etc., it is similiar to paying for your entertainment.Once i begin to realize it's just a game...i play much better. Easier to make effective reads and/or the correct play. Sure, its money, but it should not be life changing (not even close), so play the game with ease!

NightTrain 0
Yeah, I can tell you it's not the money that does it, I get this way on freerolls!!It's more the adrenalin rush of certain hands and certain pots that I'm part of...I guess I need to control the breathing while sipping on some hot apple cider. MarionSauce 0
OMG I am the same way too, one reason why live tourneys = not so good. I highly recommend my good friend Mary Jane, although your thinking might be slightly delayed and may be terribly PROLONGED it will seriously calm you down like no other.Or- just imagine the person beside you in their underpants, hopefully this is your typical poker playign white middle-aged male, and not a 19 year old girl. StuNami 0
If you are having trouble with the shakes giving "false tells" NOT in your favor (i.e. making people think you have a bigger/smaller hand than you do and betting/not betting because if it) try this:Sit down at the table with a large (expensive) bottled water. Then casually pull from a crumpled brown paper bag several of those amber colored tell-tale perscription bottles (filled with various tic-tacs, altoids, Nerds, etc).Give each a shake (checking quantity) and set them on the felt. Anyone asks, tell them they are for your nervous disorder - no more details ("It's painful for me to go into more detail, <<sniff>> <<sniff>>")As the night goes on, check your watch, take a "pill." While this might not cure your shakes, it will probably give you the freshest breath at the table and bamboozle a few opponents.Your shakiness will be chalked up to either an illness or a perscription drug problem and they will forget about it. NightTrain 0
mmmmmm 19 year old girls.that's the last thing I need to think about...it's tough enough to play without having a tent pitched in my pants.
JG8191 0
Like others had mentioned before, this could be an issue if it happens when you are holding some good cards. However, if your hands shake all the time it really shouldnt matter.Just take some long deep breaths in between hands and try to relax about things. Poker is played to make money... though most of us play because we enjoy it so much. Be sure that you are playing well within your bankroll and your shakes should go away because you are playing with money you can afford to lose. And know that if you are playing smart, you will be getting the best of it in the long run.
monoatomic 0
constantly play with your chips. If you hands are busy you won't have to worry about them shaking. Other then that hide your hands as quickly as you can after making a bet. Cross your arms and hide your hands so no one can see them shake.
Dirtydutch 9
It often happens too newer players or players that just moved to a new limit or game.It will likely go away in time.Dutch.
custom36 5
My hands always shake. It's just a physical attribute for me. Makes it hard to carry a plate or glass sometimes (I've spilled a few in my life), but in poker it works wonders. I'm a tight-agressive player, and with shaky hands (that just naturally shake) against new players, it is very easy to bluff. If you're like me, I don't think there's anything you can do to fix it.
