Alpha1494 0
I just recently started playing on Stars after FCP made the conversion. I hadn't had a lot of time to play recently, but today I had time to finally play a 180 man SNG so I ponied up the 10 clams for it. I can definately now see why everyone loves these things so much. Being a brag post, I will say that I took first in this guy (representing FCP of course). The structure is fantastic. I just played super tight and waited for big hands and got paid off every time. I only saw a flop about 16% of the time. I played the first 2 hours well below the average but I was also fairly card dead. On the bubble I started playing fairly LAG and picked up quite a few chips. Once we got to the money I just tightened up a bit and actually picked up some hands so I was able to accumulate chips very easy going into the FT. I did have an interesting hand HU and wanted to see what everyone else's opinion is on this. Sorry in advance for not converting but I'm doing this off of memory.Hero in BB (130K)Villain has SB (button) (140K)This villain had been incredibly aggressive. He had the chip lead 6 handed and won a 90K pot when he got it all in with AQ vs. AA. He flopped broadway. He was playing incredibly LAG.Hero has KcKsVillain limps in, Hero raises to 8K, Villain callsFLOP: 2d, 3h, 8cHero bets 12K, Villain raises 36K, Hero................I know its obvious that my hand should be good, but what does everyone do here. RyanPriceDotCA 0
I'd be sure he's full of it. I'd call and milk him for more on the turn and river.Congrats on the cash - I haven't played any of these 180 man S&G yet, what does 1st pay?
rogerwilco 0
I'd be sure he's full of it. I'd call and milk him for more on the turn and river.I agree, I would also give him a free card and let him make a big bluff at the pot again. [better post the hand in tournament strategy though if you are interested in a serious discussion about it]Grats on the win.
DrZoidberg 0
I pause to think, then call, and check the turn to inspire the bluff, kind of dangerous, but whats to be scared of?
Alpha1494 0
Thanks for some of the input. I thought for a while then pushed, and he insta-mucked. I think the best play there is to flat call. The way he was playing, he likely would have moved in on the turn no matter what with complete air. It was still a big pot and it gave me the chip lead for good. Last hand:Blinds 1K/2K with 200 antes.Hero in BB with KcQc (170K)Villain in SB (100K)Villain raises to 6K, Hero reraises to 20K, villain callsFlop: KsQd3hHero checks, Villain checksTurn: JdHero bets 35K, Villains pushes for 80K, Hero callsVillains shows QhJsRiver: can't remember, who cares, wasn't a jack.It was sweet. Payout for first was $540, so it was a nice score for only $10 and a couple of hours a work.Alpha
