Flushgarden 0
I mean something that has real artistic value and also promotes Christianity. Not just the boring tired rehashed sounds with Christian lyrics added that we almost always hear.Recommend some bands or some songs if you know any. It can be any style...as long as its good. I don't like all those bands too much, just thought of the ones I knew and ranked em 1 - 10. Any decent Christian radio station plays every one of those bands. If you like Christian music - you like those bands, regardless of what genre you like. The fact that you'd 'suspect' the list was exactly what he didn't want to hear is irrelevant because you haven't heard them all. Some of those I only like a few of their songs, just put them on there because I don't know what genres he is into. Those range from (while all being Christian) country/rock sounding to punk alternative
solderz 0
Faith +1 is the best christian rock band in the country, hands down. Here is a link to a video about them:Faith +
socalpoker_j 1
Jadon Lavik, Jason Grey, Brandon Heath, and Jared Anderson are in the mellow genre of Christian music, especially if you are into the Jack Johnson/acoustic sound.
BDPoolie 0
I'm a Country and Rock musician, and don't know much "Christian" music, although I have seen Amy Grant and she is really good. Here are links to two Christian songs/videos that my brother directed, although I'm not that familiar with the groups:"Break My Plans" - This HopeThis one, I'm not really sure of the group or song, but the video was shown at Sean Hannity's "For Freedom" Concerts. bobbywithani 0
Danielson is about the only one I can think of, and are pretty well regarded in the indie music scene, which I'm not a big fan of. The documentary on them is really good even though it has lameass Sufjan Stevens in it.

Naked_Cowboy 0
I completely understand this question and have generally been disgusted for the majority of my life with what seems like a lack of effort on the part of most Christian artists. This music is accepted because "it's about Jesus, it can't be bad!". That attitude is very poor. Sadly, even some of the "better" musicians listed so far in this thread subscribe to the "recycle old lyrics over a standard G chord progression" or the "decent singer + synth keyboard" recipes far too often. That said, check out:David Crowder Band. solid acoustic rock (sometimes a little harder, sometimes basically acoustic)with violins and turntable / electronica influences mixed in. some of their stuff is semi-standard, but they are genuinely always striving to be unique and artful in their music. Live they're really quite an experience. david uses a keytar and a modified guitar hero controller for 2 songs. As a musician, I love the use of alternate tunings and actually challening music.best songs to get started if you're an itues guy would probably be:skies interlude -> open skies God of Wrathmake a joyful noise / i will not be silent (lime CD live version, done with a disco beat)only you (great acoustic)coming toward (amazing instrumental)below is a live video / soundboard of "oh the glory of it all", a song from their album coming out next month. it's pretty simple but i still love it. cheers
