if anyone is interested, read sbrugby's blog from a few months ago to now. this is the progression:1) he is playing bad, realizes he's playing bad, and he leaves a game (a couple months ago)"The thing I am most proud of during this time is I haven't tilted...I think the change is I have played so much poker that the beats and weak players sucking out and hitting and running don't bother me. I understand how the poker economy works and don't get riled up when some one hits and runs because I realize that how I make money. Its from these weak players not from sitting playing Patrik HU at 300/600." (6/15/07)2) he is losing a couple million, and after bluffing away a 1.8 million pot against bobby baldwin he cannot even return to the table and has an attendant at the casino rack his chips (a week ago)"Just got caught bluffing in a pot over 1.8 million dollars against Bobby Baldwin. I actaully had to get up and leave the table I was so tilted. I have to give Bobby credit he out played me. I will describe the hand tomorrow when I am feeling better. I don't even know how much I ended down since I just had the poker room manager rack up for me, but I would guess between 700 and 800K. I may go home tomorrow as well. I have been in Vegas for 2 weeks now and am very homesick. I thought I wouldn't leave Vegas until this game was done but I really dont' want to be here right now." (7/14/07)3) despite saying that he hates vegas and is glad to be gone, approx two days later he has packed his bags to return to vegas and the only reason he doesn't go is that they aren't running the game (a couple days ago). "I was sick of Vegas and needed to get away. I had spent about 2 weeks in Vegas and a week earlier in the summer and it felt so great to be back in Santa Barbara. The air and weather is so much better than Vegas. Today I actually contimplated heading back to Vegas to play more. I was all set to go but I made some phone calls and it sounds like the game is not going to run anymore, since bobby and some others are leaving town. " (7/17/07)"for every interesting person you meet at the poker table there are 10 selfish, degenerate, and despicable human beings that you will come across. I met quite a few people that I hope I never have to interact with again." (7/17/07) ############i mean, we've seen a similar progression with a lot of pro players in the spotlight. it is just funny that even though the same story is replayed again and again people are surprised by the ending. hellmuth was smart enough to avoid this by assuring himself of reliable income (ultimate bet, pro player drink, books, video games, endorsements, etc etc etc) that will always outweight swings in poker.i would put the over/under at sbrugby being bust at 4 months. i'm assuming his roll is about 10 mill, and i think 4 months is a fair line for when he will not have enough money and will need to be staked.

All these are smart moves, DUCY? Also, the lack of intelligence behind your posts regarding serious poker matters really bothers me. Saying that SB is going to be bust is ridiculous.

i went through his blog and posted some of the relevant posts.i mean, if we disagree we disagree, but i would bet anyone at even money that he goes bust by the end of 2008. he is a really, really great player, but you have to realize socal that these guys are all practicing poor bankroll management and they are playing against competition that is mostly very tough. i hope i'm wrong since sbrugy seems like a nice guy, but as i tell my gf all the time i'm almost always right, and it is very surprising when i'm wrong.EDIT: people, please please please don't respond ban him. I am posting my own opinion, and i'm backing it up with fact and details that forum members will find interesting. i do not want to disrupt the forum: i only want to participate. with regard to the hellmuth bet, if Jam-fly wants to certify that he believed we had a bet i will leave the forum. he knew that we did not have a bet, and to be honest anyone that thinks we did is an idiot.

If/when we bet and I win, are you going to later say that there was never a bet, because of some minute technicality and then proceed to post a poll on whether or not you should pay?

Even though i Dont think sbrugby has bad br management and certainly wont go bust. His level of online play has dropped significantly since he started playing live. I think all those big pots live mean he isnt concentrating 100% online as the action prolly doesnt seem big enough and seems to be bluffing alot more than he used to..Eventually when he gets back into his groove I think we could see him dominating again online..

Gman, so much to say...so little time:1. Pwned by socal. 2. New, scarier mancrush on sbrugby than Fillmath.3. Another halfway engaging post ruined with "almost always right, surprised when I'm wrong" crapola.4. Stillshadyonfollowthroughwithselfimposedbanaments.

There is something so ironically funny in this thread, but I'm too nice to point it out. Maybe someone else will. Suprisingly, it has nothing to do w/ gman.

1)He was still up 300-400k for the trip2) he quit while he was steaming, which seems like very disciplined play to me, the opposite of degeneracy. 3) Hating vegas is actually a really good sign, because if he was "sinking into degeneracy" he'd love vegas.4) he went to go back because of game selection, because it was the best game he'd ever seen. 5) sbrugby has always shown very quality br managing skills in the past working his way up.6) as unimaginable as it might be to some of us, to whom Ivey is a synonym for Christ, townsend thinks he has an edge against Ivey. This may or may not be the case, but Townsend has had a high lvl of success playing heads up NL against the toughest internet players in the world. Ivey would have an edge certainly in mixed games, but judging by BT's success online I don't think it's outlandish at all for him to think he has an edge in HU NLH.

Brian..Please place over a million in a trust fund and leave that money in case something like this happens...
I'd be very surprised if he hasn't invested a couple of millions already.
