Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.10 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FCP)MP ($10.85)CO ($16.36)Button ($10.60)Hero ($11.81)BB ($12.08)UTG ($9.90)Preflop: Hero is SB with K :D , K :club: . UTG calls $0.10, 1 fold, CO raises to $0.25, Button raises to $1, Hero calls $0.95, 1 fold, UTG folds, CO raises to $4.2, Button raises All-In, Hero I had been at the table with the CO for about 30-45 min. In that time he had been extremely loose passive preflop, limping into atleast 75% of pots. I'm also fairly certain this was his first time actually raising preflop. Button in fairly new to the table, no reads on his playing style.

I can't fold here, but I can't fold Kings pre-flop. What's our read on the Button? Had the CO limped *good* hands? Like had he shown down AK when he limped?
CO wasn't showing down a ton of hands, but he never limped in preflop and ended showing down anything decient. Mostly check calling, hardly ever betting or raising. I had raised him quite a few times with position and he called just about every time.

Instashove. I assume the play is pretty bad, and while one of them may have AA, I could see QQ, AK and even JJ doing this also. Hell, I've seen donks do this with complete air. As Harrington says, its just not profitable to lay down KK fearing AA. If one of them does have AA, all you need to do is flop another K :club:

Toughie. I like 4 betting button and then maybe folding but as played probably call. Button realizes if he cold calls you probably hang around so he might be pushing for isolation. Plus its low stakes so I expect 1010-QQ and AK a lot. Throw in the occasional mini pocket pair and you got yourself an +EV call.

I don't like 4 betting here because it limits the hands that can call me. To put in a 3rd raise from the SB I have to have pretty much AA or KK. It could be argued that because its lower limits I might get called anyway, but I like just taking the flop here. As far as 4 betting and folding, 40-50% of my stack would go in as the raise, meaning folding would no longer be an option. I don't think as many hands are pushing here as the rest of you seem to think. I've been playing this level, after switching from limit, for a little over 8000 hands now. In that time I have never seen 1010 or AK get it all in preflop. I've only seen JJ all in preflop once, QQ only a couple of times. I think this is an easy laydown to make since I choose not to 4 bet and see the flop. A loose passive player, who hasn't done anything more than limp/call preflop, is all of a sudden raising and reraising committing a ton of chips to the pot. Then another player behind pushes making it a 5th raise. This is probably a tougher laydown if the button doesn't push. But, with the combination of the button putting in a 5th raise preflop and a super passive player 4 betting, one of them is going to have AA more times than not.

Coldcalling a raise and a reraise preflop gives a lot away about your hand as it is. If you're only putting in the 3rd or 4th bet with AK, AA, KK, QQ and similar hands, it makes it easy for your opponent to play against you. You should be trying to find spots to be reraising without premium hands so that your opponents have to be guessing. As this plays out, I'm gonna get my chips in. At lower limits, players will call you with hands they shouldn't, so don't be afraid to put in that 4th bet.

agreebut why aren't we putting in the second bet here, i'm kinda confused with the smooth call of std raise from the button with KK

Reread the OP, the CO raises 2.5BBs to $0.25 and then the button reraises to $1.00.Also, for future reference, smooth calling with big pairs preflop OOP is bad enough against one opponent. You should almost never do it against multiple opponents.

I am sorry but I dont agree with most of this. First off the pot is getting pretty bloated...so to take it down now is ok. You are way to narrow on your range. AK calls a lot, QQ isnt getting away from this obvious AA isnt. At these limits I wouldnt be surprised to see AQ. I push this everytime. Laying down KK preflop is generally a bad idea at these limits.

Um. Shove.
I'm not worried about he Button in the hand, it was more the MP player. Had the button not shoved I probably play the hand, but with both I was fairly certain one of them had it. Maybe its result oriented since I was dead on and MP turned over AA and button had QQ, exactly what I thought would happen when I folded. First time I've made this laydown but MP's out of the ordinary play in the hand had big warning bells going off in my head.

Oh well. You'll win the next three.

Trying to take a flop with Kings is really weak in this situation. Also, 8k isn't a very large sample size. I've played for about 4 days and already put in about 6k. Worse hands are going to call you, if worst comes to worse you just have to flop two kings.

I'm not folding KK here ever. I had a hand last weekend, 1st hand of the day in the BB. EP min raises to .50 and SB r/r's for around $3 which was half his stack. I 3-bet for around $7 and EP shoves. I hate my hand but still called... he had AK.Point is he has to have AA almost every time for this to be -EV, especially in a 3 way pot. If you're properly bankrolled you should have no problem getting in preflop with KK.
