So I check, he bets small and I call. River completes the flush, is check-folding standard here?

pf is finei'm ok with your flop bet, at best your opponents have 5 outs or you are beat, one or the other...for that reason i think i might c/c, esp with the pot being 4-handedafter leading the flop, you made a big mistake giving up the lead on the turn...i would have bet around $10 to find out if he had Q-J, and also for value since you could have the best hand easily...his range, unless you have a strong read, is wider than you're giving him credit for, A-x suited, K-J, or Q-10 is a very legitimate possibilityas a result of your passive play on the turn, you've now got a really annoying decision on the river...i say call, but you're beat a lot of the time

Tough spot. AJ probably doesn't bet the river after you raised PF and bet the flop, then C/C'd the turn. His bets look to me like he's betting so weak that he's hoping youll call. This looks a lot like A-10.

I'm calling this a lot of times, we gave him the green light to bluff the turn, When you call, a hand like AJ can certainly bet thinking he's good, assuming he is a terrible player.Of course you bet more on the flop

the turn is the most relevant part of this hand. depending on reads, i either bet 12 on the turn or pitch it altogether. i never call here. this is mostly likely a pure heart draw, a passively played combo heart draw, or Ax. since 2 more players act after villain on the flop, i think the chances of him calling with QJ or slowplaying AK (with no reraise pf) are pretty low. i'd like to know what your thought process was on the turn c/c. i see several reasons why you could have done it:1) Calling 3-1 to improve to a better hand. But this has a couple of problems. If you hit the gutter it's not very well-disguised and you're likely not getting paid except by a turned two pair. Even then, you'll have to value bet appropriately on the river to get a call, and that bet size is probably not going to be big enough to make this profitable. You could also easily hit a reverse implied card (like a Q or a Jh) that increases the chances of making a really bad river decision.2) Calling because you suspect he's betting a draw since you've shown weakness. But if you do that, then you have to commit to pitching your hand when the river completes the flush draw and calling pretty much anything else... without much of an idea as to what he's holding and a fairly threatening board.3) Keeping the pot smaller. But the number of made hands you're ahead of that you keep around by check-calling the turn are vastly outnumbered by hands ahead of you and hands that have a decent odds to catch up. You keep the pot small in order to maximize your showdown value with mediocre hands, but in this pot, most of the value from your hand comes from charging a draw. You also do it when you're OOP but think there are a lot of river cards the villain will check behind given his hand range, which is not the case here.as played, it's close, but i think i probably fold the river without knowing that villain's a bad player. villain's not calling the flop, second to act, enough times with hands that we're ahead of by the river. if villain was CO or BB then i'd probably call.

I did just check/call to keep the pot smaller...but I see that leading the turn woulda been better.River to me was an easy fold, and I did fold, he didnt show so I dont know what I was up against.
