jmbreslin 0
This was a frustrating one. I had finally clawed my way back to this chip level after being down around 2500 for a while and I ended up throwing a chunk of it back on this hand. Villain was pretty aggressive HU - few folds, plenty of raises, rarely let me complete without raising. I figured this was a good opportunity to let him lead as usual and trap him. gobears 0
I would fold the flop - if villain is being so aggressive, then we can find a better hand than A high when he overbets the pot (3x?) to punish him.As played, the board is draw heavy, if you are trying to represent a big hand, that weak bet on the turn won't get the job done - lead for 2/3 the pot on the turn but I'd still fold the flop. AKProdigy 0
Don't mind preflop, I hate the flop call as well. If he's really playing this way with a lot of hands, wait until a made hand to burn him, blinds are only 100/200: you have plenty of time.
wsox8 10
I know you put that the villian is aggressive but I still raise pre to 600 or 650.
Snamuh 0
I don't mind the preflop trap but I hate the flop call of a massive overbet with just A high. If he's overbetting like this regularly, you should be able to take a lot from him when you actually do hit.
jmbreslin 0
Thanks, guys. Since he was playing a very wide range of hands, I figured his overbet on the flop was just to bully me off the pot. When he checked the turn I took that as confirmation, but I was caught between wanting to try and take the pot and being afraid to risk too much of my remaining stack with A-high and only 1 card to come. I really had no idea how to interpret his river bet, but I figured that with 5 different cards on the board and his wide range there was a decent enough chance he at least paired one of them.Looks like my big mistake was overcommitting myself on the flop by calling his overbet with overcards. qyayqi 11
getting bullied for 400 is better than putting in another 1600 & still not know where you stand in the hand.
timwakefield 68
You need a real hand to call a ridiculous overbet on the flop like that. Also you probably shouldn't cold call such a big bet very often - raise or fold. Your turn bet is nonsensical - do you want your opponent to fold or to call? In general a bet that small into a pot that big is basically the same as not betting at all.

jmbreslin 0
Yeah, I decided to take a stab at the $5.50's after dicking around at $1.20 for a couple of months.
trystero 0
Don't you hate when someone plays like an aggrotard, and if only you could flop a respectable pair you'd stack him silly...but you just can't do it?
