I would probably just fold a KJ in middle position at a full table normally but here 4 people were sitting out. The thing I am mostly concerned about is the river, is this a bad call with 2pair on my part? Advice on all other levels would also be welcome.Other info: I was the big stack with about 10,000. i would raise or fold preflop. what were you doing limping kjo with the chip lead anyway? as for the river, you have to pay off a four now. But then you have to ask yourself, is this guy capable of limping ak? If he is, you just took the lead with that jack on the river and can stack him. I'll be damned if someone would open limp a hand with a 4 in it utg with the other people sitting out. It makes no sense.

Good point, I'm not sure now actually lol. I guess I didn't realise that KJ is a pretty good hand 6-handed. Its definitely something I'll do next time.

I agree with Litle's analysis. I have a hard time seeing him limping with a 4. Every other hand 77, JJ, KK would raise UTG. So I'd really think about if he had like a 45s or A4s, If I feel he doesn't, I raise. If I am unsure, I just call. I defiantly raise PF. As for the other hand. I agree. But that may be a leak in my game as well. I guess how many are left in the field would sway my decision. If I felt like the tournament was lost at this point and I could coast into the money then I would play it differently. Trying to be very cheap about it. If not, or we are in the money, I am really looking to double up and sometime soon. I'd shove or check shove.

I only looked at hand 1 but raising preflop is god awful, calling isn't great but you have pos on the limpers and enough chips to fold if somebody behind raises, so I don't hate the limp. On the turn, that's pretty sick but I probably call the min raise and once I two pair the river I definitely pay it off.

Thanks for the advice guys. He showed 10,4o (wtf?) and emptied my pockets of much of my stack, precipitating hand 2 and I went from big stack to gone very quickly

I think you have to pay off the river as played, but I agree with other posters that you're raising this PF all day long as the chipleader.That said, I disagree with other posters in wondering why someone would limp with a 4 in the hand. Sure it's not the wisest move, but it's certainly not a WTF type play.Here's why: The blinds are low in relation to their stacks, and there are FOUR people sitting out. So it's playing as a 6-man SNG at a low blind level. In my experience, this is the perfect time to see a flop with a wide range of hands because for limited risk you could bingo and flop a monster that you can ride for major chippage. (Now I'm not sure 10-4o qualifies as one in the wide range, but certainly a 45s or even A4o is certainly in the realm.)Obv this is a very conditional response, because if those 4 aren't sitting out, I'm not limping with your opponent's hand. Just saying with half the opponents' hands out of play, the risk of limping and seeing a flop is not huge, especially for 200 when you're sitting on $5K-$7K. Hope this helps.

first hand: the limp is all right, but raising/folding is probably a little better play...on the turn, i like raising rather than just calling, if the third player has you trapped then that's that, but i can't see him having a 4, unless he had A-4...honestly, as played the raise on the turn looks a lot like 7-7, i probably just call and re-evaluate the riversecond hand: i probably check it, and i don't really know what would've happened after that
