serge 904
This is terrible news..He was a hockey player and he was famous, but the bottom line is a 21 year old kid with so much life ahead of him , is a HUGE tragedy.Sometimes it all seems trivial our stupid fantasy hockey and rants and crap......RIP Luc

grocery_mony 8
Just awful. It was really weird I heard on the radio that a young NHL'er had died and it didnt give a name or a team and for some reason I immediatly thought of Bourdon.RIPThose damn crotch rockets! Not to many second chances with those.

digitalmonkey 929
From Coaches Corner:Like many teams the Vancouver Canucks had a "Win the jersey off your back" promotion after the last home game this season. Anyone that won a jersey had it autographed by the player. The person who won the Luc Bourdon jersey mailed the jersey to Luc's mother Suzanne this week.AWESOME!

Alot of people would be looking to cash in but this person did the right thing. The team should give that person seaon tickets imo.
WestcoastCanuck 0
This organization is starting to remind me of a mix of the Coyotes (until they got their new gm) and the Islanders.1) Owner meddling with the team when he shouldn't: Islanders.2) Hiring random inexperienced personal: Coyotes and Islanders.3) Hiring friends of the GM / Authority figure: Coyotes.BAH! fleung22 1
I'd like to get a discussion going on what you fellow Canucks fans and other armchair GM's think Vancouver should do in the offseason. Most the people at the Canucks board are retarded and propose trading half the roster and bringing in a completly new top 6. I'm at work so I won't go into depth right now but I think we should let Naslund go but keep Morrison. Keep the Sedins. They just need to be on the 2nd line or if they are first they need a 2nd line to take away some of the checking. Brunstrom is a good addition if he lives up to expectation. Use Naslunds money to try and get an impact scorer. Try and get another decent scorer who can play 1st or 2nd line. Maybe a veteran like Stillman or Rechi. I think we should try and trade Bieksa and try and get a more offensive defencemen who can move the puck to the forwards. I'll try and post a realistic lineup later but feel free to add yours.the Sedins are definitely good enough to be first line players. amongst scoring leaders they are no. 24 and 27 in a league of 30 teams. but ya, there obviously needs to be more goal support.I feel for Nonnis...I admire the guy for sticking to his guns and the injuries on the blue line no doubt affected the season. that being said how do you mess up the final 2 weeks so badly!?!?last year I said to give them another chance and i almost want to say it again but I think the morale on the team needs a boost with some new blood. Kovalchuk? that would be freakin awesome tho i just don't see it happening. I think I'm too out of touch with the NHL to accurately speculate who could come in and perform. grocery_mony 8
The Smyl promotion and the Gagner hiring I like a lot more.Actually the Smyl demotion.Damn would have been sweet to get Cammalerri. I guess the nucks were right in there but calgary got the deal done. Bieksa for Eric Cole is what there seems to be alot of talk about right now. I think Eric Cole would thrive with the Sedins then they just got to worry about building a 2nd scoring line.
WestcoastCanuck 0
Actually the Smyl demotion. From this article: http://www.canada.com/theprovince/news/sto...c9-49f34a311704"The expansion of Stan's role and the addition of Dave to our staff are a significant step in our continued efforts to enhance the way we develop and evaluate young players," said Gillis in a releaseI'm not 100% sure what his old role was, so this could be just PR bs from Gillis.Camalleri would have been really nice. The Canuck's haven't had a good goal scoring center since... ever really.

The Canuck's haven't had a good goal scoring center since... ever really.A couple of writers were on sportstalk last night and said it was a major demotion. Basically he was in charge of player development throughout the organization, now he is just in charge at the collegiate level. I would have more respect for Gillis if he just fires everyone throughout the organization rather than shuffling them around hoping they will quit. I do think there scouting needs to bge overhauled. Since 1999 one of there first rounder is playing for them(Kessler) and only 1 other is in the NHL(Umberger damn Burke and his ego)

A new all-swedish line?!
WestcoastCanuck 0
Wellwood was a decent pickup for a team lacking good forwards. We now officially have the softest 1-2 punch at center in the league.
