Dazzler69 0
I was playing a in a Satelitte to a £500 buy-in tournement in my local casino with the top 3 getting seats the event and only four players are left, only played against these guys at the final table and from what I had seen had been playing pretty tight from hands that were shown down.Blinds 2000/4000 with 200ante(all chip counts here are approx coz I can't remember the exact numbers)P1 80,000 (Button)P2 30,000 (SB)Me 45,000 (BB)P4 60,000I'm in the BB and get dealt QQ. P4 bets all-inP1 foldsP2 calls all-in (after thinking for a while)My question is what would you do here? As I sat there thinking I was torn between calling as QQ is a big hand, or folding and not want to risk seeing either player have better cards or get out drawn and lose my spot in the bigger tourney!! I eventually called but was still unsure of whether I had made a good move or not. Turned out that P4 had AK and P2 had JJ, the an Ace on the flop and no help for myself or P2 saw P4 win the hand, but I still progressed. Was it the right thing to take the risk or is it just not worth it?Thanks for any thoughts guys! NEtwowilldo 0
Fold. What if you had aces? Still Fold.
timwakefield 68
Agreed, fold AA in this spot. QQ instamuck. You've gotta hope that the shortie doesn't have the other guy dominated, and then that he loses. Even if the shortie wins, the other guy will then be significantly shorter than you. Actually I'm now unsure if folding AA is correct here. It's a tough spot - if P4 wins the whole pot vs you and P1 then you advance (based on chipcount when you were eliminated), if P1 wins the main pot and you win the sidepot then P4 is short and you're still ok. The only way that things go bad is if P1 wins the main pot by cracking your aces, and P4 also beats your aces but can't beat P1. Seems very unlikely to me. I think I might have to call here with AA. QQ is still an instamuck, and KK as well. You're in a very good position to win the tournament by folding your hand. What were the blinds at this point? If they were very high then I think you have to call aces there.
Dazzler69 0
The blinds were 2000/4000 with a 200ante. Thanks for input guys it was a tough choice for me but I def see the point you guys are making!
