Daniel N. Is The W S O P 2008 Moving To Ceasar's Palace

Recommended Posts

I've heard rumors that the 2008 WSOP is moving to Ceasar's Palace on the strip. Because the convention center is larger and closer to table games, forum shops, etc.I was reading a article somewhere, it stated "Pit bosses are upset that there is 4000-5000 people, a 1/2 mile down the hall, around a couple of corners, with plenty of money, and they can not touch them".Has anyone else heard or read anything relating to this.

I hope this becomes proper English, like how on the Simpsons in the future 'Smell ya later' is how everybody says goodbye. Instead of 'I'll talk to you soon,' everybody will say 'Holla atcha!'

Sorry, random comment here as the above post made me think of it. Anybody else speak "ebonically" but use the actual words and say it very "white-bread"??? Like the ebonic sentence "Yo Yo, what's crackin' my bruthas?!?" said "Yo Yo, what is cracking my brothers??" in a high pitched voice???? No?? Just me??? Ok, just checking....... :club:

Am I taking crazy pills, or is Caesars a Harrah's property?
Not sure what you're taking but yes, Caesars is owned by Harrah's. Caesar's is actually their flagship/premium brand. Sort of like Bellagio is to MGM/Mirage.

I'm saying, if it was true that Harrah's was no longer interested in the WSOP, as the article suggests, it obviously wouldn't move to another Harrah's property.

I heard from someone during the tournament that Harrah's was building a building just to host the WSOP that would be done not next year but ready for the year after.Obv no idea how credible that was but since you asked if we'd heard anything related to that...Mark

The convention center is no where near Cesaers Palace. The Venetian is attached the the Sands Expo and has showed much interest in pushing Poker. That would make for a great venue.

The addition to Venetian is a traditional casino/hotel. The V would make an excellent WSOP host I think. The problem with the article is that lots of businesses have parts that they don't think are worth pouring money into and yet they don't want to sell them off.

Take this for what it is worth. I played in event #34 this year and unfortunately busted out on Day 2. On my way out I bought some merchandise from one of the vendors in the hallway and he informed us that the WSOP was going to move to Caeser's next year. He was a RIO employee.I didn't grill him on it becuase I heard the same rumor last year when I played.
