Wondering if anyone has played one yet? And any thoughts or opinions. How many in it the first couple of events? Also, has anyone seen any coverage of it, Pokerpages covers the Mini-series but I don't see anything on this?I will be playing in this coming Friday's 1k. Anyone else?Huskers20

I played their $340 deepstack tourney a few days ago and really liked how it was ran. Only 37 people were in it, but I think the ones for this series will have a lot more entrants. Floorman ran the tourney well and the dealers were very quick, definitely something to play if you like deepstack mtts

They ran it in March when I was there and its awesome. I played a $540 event and they had 397 runners with 60k for first. The blind structure is very good with no real big jumps like other tournies. 40 minute levels.10k starting chips for $540 and 6k for the $340 events.

I e-mailed the venetian a while ago and they sent me this. I am planning on going there next weekend to play in one or two. With the long lines at the WSOP and the horror stories for the first week, i think i'm gunna stay clear of that."Jeff, This is the structure for all of the no limits the levels for the $1060 are one hour instead of 40 min. I played in the $540 on Saturday. There is a lot of play and a lot of people willing to call off their chips with less than the nuts. I tripled up in about an hour and a half. There were a little less than 400 entrants.I would highly recommend playing in their tournaments. The bang for the buck is well worth it.

Staff can pay 10$ more and get 1500 more chips??? Am I reading that right?
No. You pay a staff bonus of $10 and get 1500 chips. It's a little extra $$ for the dealers' pockets. And, I don't think it's an option. They did not give me a choice as to whether I wanted to pay it or not.

The "staff bonus" doesn't go into the prize pool. It's for dealer tips basically. It should be optional but you'd have to be severely retarded to not take it so they may have just assumed you wanted it.As per a post on allvegaspoker.com317 and 390 for the first two tourneys respectively were the entrant amounts.

What does this part mean?10. Half of 1% will be withheld from the prize pool for best overall winners.J
Not sure but I think it means the .5% will be withheld for best overall winners. :)Sounds like they're going to pay an additional prize (taken from the prizepool of the individual tournies) to the people who have the best results over the whole series of tournies. Sort of a TLB kind of thing.

He busted 16th for $2500
I really felt like I was playing the best poker of my life.. my reads were spot on these last 2 days... Overall the level of play was weak/tight.. I started the day with 113k but quickly doubled with 10c8c on a 6c8c3h flop when i got it all in with the chip leader when he had Q6.. i turned a flush and was in good shapethen we got down to final 18 and i had about 260k... I was feeling good with the blinds 4-8k and was just gonna play solid cuz i had a top 5 stack.. well there was 16 people left... utg shoved for 41k.( huge range obv).. and button smooth called leaving himself with about 200k... I look down at AK and shovel because I think button is only calling with KK or AA and thats improbable cuz i have AK.. he think tanks for a while and calls with QQ and the utg raiser had AQ.. I didnt spike a K or A and was crippled and out the next hand..If I can win that hand I am chip leader of the tourney and have a serious shot at 93k first prize... If you play solid poker and understand tourney strategy you will do fine in these tournies.. these tournies have SO much play... which I think kinda hurt me because im so used to playing turbos or faster structured tournies... I highly recommend these tournies if you want to get away from the zoo that is the WSOP( busted in the 3rd hour of Event 3).. gl to anyone out here!
