pezeveng 207
I'm quite certain I'm a favorite to do that, so taking 5-1 is an excellent bet for me. If I made this bet every year for 6 years, I'd only have to win one bracelet to break even.not true as you would need equal bets every year for you to break evenYear 1 $100,000 in bets you don't win you lose Year 2 $200,000 in bets you don't win you lose Year 3 $150,000 in bets you don't win you loseYear 4 $150,000 in bets you don't win you lose Total losses in 4 year $600,000Year 5 $100,000 in bets you don't win you finally win$500,000 so your down $100,000 thats doing it every 5 years. Why would he change his beat each year? I think what you should be saying is:Year 1 $100,000 in bets and you don't win Year 2 $100,000 in bets and you don't winYear 3 $100,000 in bets and you don't winYear 4 $100,000 in bets and you don't winTotal losses in 4 year $400,000Year 5 $100,000 in bets and you win $500,000 Therefore, total profit = $100KThe other option, by your reasoning, is the following: Year 1 $100,000 in bets and you don't win Year 2 $200,000 in bets and you don't winYear 3 $100,000 in bets and you don't winYear 4 $200,000 in bets and you don't winTotal losses in 4 year $600,000Year 5 $700,000 in bets and you win $3,500,000 Therefore, total profit = $2.9MBut this isn't how you would calculate things, because you should use a consistent bet each year. Dark Gaia 0
Ideally, Daniel's system will favour him for sure. But there will always be cheaters exploiting his system. As long as they handcuff Daniel in any WSOP events, Daniel can't win and will not profit in the long term. Instead, it's the cheaters who prevails. This is common sense from the (professional) gamblers' point of view.If I am in fact missing something here, please enlighten me.

showstopper24 0
I hope Daniel didn't bet with anybody that he would win a bracelt before Hellmuth because he would have lost that bet with #11.
