  1. apparently pittsburg steelers = peanut butter jelly....I'm happy for the bus, prolly retiring after a superbowl in his home town.. good for him.
  2. play on "COUGHsuchaloadofbullshitCOUGH" pokerstars.YAY for my 100th post. YAHOO!I'll be a nOOb flaming, poker knowledge having, 1/2 NL table grindin' FCP forum junky yet!
  3. additional comment, i think i went into this hand w/ the advice DN has given quite often, which was I put myself into a position to get a big chip stack going into the final table.
  4. Background: 9 people left, final table bubble (it's always 8 at this place where i play) Guy to my right has re-raised my raises many times, and i could tell w/ good hands, or solid pairs, and had to lay my hands down oop.Blinds are 4/8, i have about 120 in chips, he has about 90. I pick up KJos UTG and raise to 20. He thinks about it for a second, and reraises another 35. Right now, the pot is 87. I finally put him on a pair, as high as 10's, or a hand like AQ. Yes, putting him on a hand that is better than mine. WE had been on the final table bubble for a while and no one was playing hands,
  5. i've tried to make one of those laydowns once....it was a misread, a very tight player in a $5 mtt on Pstars...I was MP, KK, raise3x bb, reraise all in by someone w/ about 1/3 chips as me, then a huge stack on the button reraised all in, i folded... big stack had 88. Oh well. Good news is he spiked an 8, so, what do they say, "hindsight is 20/20"?just my 2cents
  6. when someone makes a comment about someones horrible play:"don't tap on the glass man, you'll disturb the fishies"but i also sometimes say:"i thought you had me beat" after they try to bluff.... the blow ups after that one sometimes are histerical
  7. Played in our tuesday poker game, i think there were 32 people one week, i was down to 10 chips, (terrible structure, we only start w/ 50 w/ 1/2 blinds, i know... kinda a crap shoot until later)down to 10 chips... pick up AA and double up against 22...The rest is history, i took that biotch down.Just a $5, won like $60... but i had the bragging rights too.
  8. thanks for the replies from everyone, and the offtopic responses from two members.... ^^ bumpAfter posting, i am up to about $200 on pokerstars, and that's from placing 2nd in a $10 sng, and a winning session on .10/.25NL.I like to think my NL game has improved exponentially since i've started playing more cash games along w/ sngs. Honestly, i don't even care to play sngs too much anymore, since i've adapted my play more towards cash games.I think I'm just in a rut, and if i play my game, I'll do well. THX(almost to 100 posts... what a milestone... WEEEEE)
  9. Have you ever just not been able to get past a certain amount in your bankroll? You'll do well, then lose (varience), and just go on a roller coaster?Example:I recently deposited $30 ino pokerstars, and have worked that up to $180. However, it seems i just can't get past this number, or the high hundreds. Everytime i'm on a roll, i hit varience and either go back down to around 130, or i win a big hand and immediately after lose a big hand, one that i'm destined to lose (i.e. flop two pair when someone flops a straight)I play .10/.25NL cash games and $5/$10 sngs, heads up matches, as well as L

  11. This was really just to see if anyone else ever heard some idiot claiming that sunday was different from other days "for bad beats and outdraws" on pokerstars.I don't believe it's rigged, nor have i ever.Just thought it was funny, and that some FCPer's would/might get a kick outta it.Almost to my 100th post.... sweet.
  12. When complaining about endless outdraws and crappy flops, someone informed me of some knowledge:me: God D%^$it... sometimes i think pokerstars is rigged, SERIOUSLY!!guy: Well, it is sunday...me: What's your point?guy: Pokerstars is weird on sundays. More outdraws, more bad beats. I've heard the same thing from many people.me: That's rediculous, you're full of sh&t.Anyway, i'm down like $50 today playing .10/.25NL, and a couple mtt's... has anyone noticed a significant amount of outdraws, (a few today..... KK vs QQ Q on turn.., more and more bad beats on sunday?)I don't believe this for a

  14. Scenario: My friend is in a hand w/ two other people. He's 2nd to act, one person behind him.1/2 NL friend has about $130 in front of him.PREFLOP: Raises occur, not sure how much, but probably to $15. (don't critique the play, just comment on the entire story please.)FLOP: J 9 K 1st position checks, my buddy bets out 15, (he has 88... don't ask me... he makes stupid decisions sometimes) 3rd to act goes all in for like $35. 1st to act calls, my buddy calls.TURN: 10 clubs, fills up flush draw and gutshot straight draw. 1st to act immediately puts my friend all in, into a dry sidepot, and my
  15. early in my poker career (like 2 years ago) something occured in an omaha tourney my friend held.On the turn, i hit a flush, and for some reason, i decided to tell my opponent that i had him beat w/ a flush. there was a pair on the board. the river put a two pair on the board, and my opponent said, "now i have a boat"Bets were made and called, and he showed up a single card, for a boat.... um, wait.No one corrected him, not even me (i can't believe it myself, looking back)during the dealing of the next hand, i realized the situation... everyone agreed that the pot be given to me instead of him
  16. took 2nd... bleh, couldn't pick up a hand.$123 aint bad though, for a $1 investment

  20. don't get me wrong. I'm not gonna lay down AA on a flop of A K 6 because my friend goes all in. HOWEVER, i try to stray away from confrontations w/ my friends, because we go there to make money from complete strangers, not each other.
  21. I've run into this situation, when i play 1/2 NL at windsor casino with some of my friends. Usually, if one of us gets into a pot w/ a big hand, the others will steer clear. I guess there's kind of an 'unspoken rule' between us that if it ends up heads up, don't bluff, and only bet w/ a made hand. THe other day i flopped a set of 7's on a board of 7 J 7, and on the turn, my buddy was in the pot, and i bet out $20, he called. I check the river, saying "i'm gonna check and save you some money."he had AJ, and lost as little as possible. I don't play at the casino to take money from my friends, i
