  1. i'd say try re-reading some poker books, i've heard Harrington on hold-em is good, however i've never read it. Hell, even just going through the strat forum is good, gives you insight on how other people play hands in certain situations, and possibly gives good advice to you. And, like the other guy said, just play. If you're looking to better your live game, then play some live, at a lower limit if you haven't played in a while. Once comfortable, move up. Get your style back and start grindin it out again.hope that helped.

  2. I'm truly ready for any bad beats that may come my way, but i haven't had any yet. Maybe a few possible +100$ pots that i chose to stay out of, oop even though i would have won then. I think the reason i haven't gone broke yet is because 1. I havne't gotten coolered yetb. i play AA w/ a standard raise like a standard hand like KQ, in MP or something like it.w00t, go bankroll.

  3. For me, that jump was to 1/2 NL online....BOught in for $80, one table on Pstars, up and down, and now up to $160 or so after a big hand w/ AA...I find the best way to try and make a lil bit more money at a higher limit is just to play a lot of TAG and single table... cards permitting, you'll make a big of loot before leaving the table.

  4. I don't think seeing that ivey trying to make a play near the bubble and losing will justify my getting busted as a 4-1 favorite on the bubble any day. Then again, bubbling is part of poker tournaments sometimes, i've bubbled a few mtt's, and it's a crappy feeling, however, i think bubbling the final table is a worse feeling. (and then you go to grindin it out on low limits with your profits

  5. Situation that came up last year in a $5 mtt (low limit, i know)I flopped middle pair, and bets were made, turn came giving my midde pair a friend, another, 8 i believe for 3 8's. check, check. River comes and ace, and for some reason my opponent (heads up) flips down his hand and says "aces", which to i reply, "can i bet yet?" He says, "oh, shit, yeah" and i thought for a minute, and i went all in, a huge raise. I knew what he had, he knew i knew what he had, and he called because he thought i was trying to buy the pot... rofl.I think that if a player shows his cards heads up, when it isn't his turn to act, really all that does is help his opponent, so allowing action to occur after said showing of cards doesn't hurt the game, but hurts the person who screwed up.

  6. forgot one, the "overplays top pair weak kicker open ender against a raise and a reraise, and pays of our hero" :PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (5 handed) internettexasholdem.comSB ($42.90)BB ($37.85)Hero ($33.90)MP ($14.55)Button ($4.50)Preflop: Hero is UTG with :), :D. 7. Having played micro NL cash games a lot over the past few weeks, i've found quite a bit of patterns in the type of players that play at that level:1. The Fish: This player simply plays online poker for fun. Doesn't really have any technique. Chases gutshots until the river, bluffs at innapropriate times, and thinks a flush draw is always a drawing hand, even if it's a 5 high draw.2. The 'noob': This player is generally new to online poker, and has a decent amount of skill from live play. He hasn't gotten used to the volume of hands played per hour yet, but is working on it.3. The "master": This player tries to make very tricky and complicated plays on people, only because he can afford the loss if our hero actually calls him down. Usually berates play when finally called down w/ a draw and outdrawn.4. The grinder: Like me (at least i would believe i fall in this category), this is the player that has a general understanding of poker. He plays position well, knows pot odds, doesn't get too crazy unless his table image permits it. He may lose a buy in here or there, but in the long run, he has profits from this limit.Anyone think of any other personalities you've seen at micro limits? Feel free to describe em... forgot about "drunk, high" and "underage".

  8. look at my bad beat post near the bubble of a $3 rebuy for this tourney... and play it for the people who ALMOST got it, if it weren't for a lee jones pokerstars fist in yo ass runner runner miracle.Who knows, you might play awesome poker, get great cards, make great bluffs, outplay players at a higher level, and hit the final table... and even take 1st... screw a chop. Just the chance at 150k +...... no decision for me, play the tourney man.

  9. i didn't say he made a bad play, i said he was "overaggressive" and besides, i don't mind him trying to bluff there, when i got TPGK, just pissed he hit his runner runner after bluffing w/ Q high. However i'm over it, i tilted after that and moved up to .25/.50NL which i shouldn't have done, and proceeded to get dealt AA, KK and QQ in the first 60 hands and turn my $20 into $80

Perhaps i should have pushed him all in and make him fold preflop, but hell, if he wants to put all his chips at risk w/ Q high, i should let him, right?Busted out soon after short stacked, my Ax ran into KK...what a fluckin hearbreaker. So close, and yet pokerstars sticks it's ugly fist up your a$$.
