  1. I can't wait to see some more of Jen Harman's play on TV. I also want to see Jeff Shulman do well, I haven't seen much of him but know that he made a damn good run and got pretty unlucky not to win the WSOP in 2000
  2. The props action is different than sports action or something of that sort in that the only way a decision can be -EV is if you can't remember your props. Aside from using your brain, everything is 0 EV. In sports/races etc. there is the vig the house takes.
  3. I was about to type in that that couldn't happen, because that would be five 5's. But then I realized I am moderately retarded.
  4. "You aren't gonna trap me"-Layne after folding when Jerry Buss called a bluff on Layne's on the flop. The guy is so goofy and erratic, but his style works amazingly. He also, as said, takes beats pretty well (doubling Matusow up when he got AA cracked, 9's to Brenes, Brunson hitting a 2 outer against him).
  5. Don't idolize pure professionals. 90 percent of them are losers who are broke and perpetually being staked. Most tourney circuit pros are all being staked despite what internet wannabes wants to think... and it's a badge of honor to be staked from their point of view. The top 20 percent have money, but can't figure out more meaningful ways to spend their time and money, and they actually think it's a virtue to be identified as a "professional". The bubble has already popped, and pretty soon, all the wannabes will be grinding away against the same old faces year after year and wonder how they
  6. There was an interview with Doyle once and someone asked him if its true that Gus went broke in the big game. He said "yes, but he made it back... and then some". Incidentally, Mike Sexton is constantly finding new ways to pronounce people's names.
  7. I think that- with the WSOP at least, since it was so early in the tournament- Daniel was choosing to err on the side of caution rather than recklessness. After all, you can't win on the first day (or now, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth day) but you can most definitely go broke on the first day.
  8. I'm new too. so, hello. From my brief time here, it seems that Daniel does make time now and again to reply to the occasional thread.
  9. In Cardplayer, Seidel made some interesting comments about this. Poker, on television, is entertainment. The people making money off of these shows, however, are not those in the spotlight, providing the actual entertainment. Would you really watch a 2 hour show starring Steve Lipscomb? No, no you wouldn't. I think that since there is money being made off of the shows, those providing the entertainment (the players) should reap some of the benefits. Take a small percentage out of the money the show makes and add it to the prize pool. Not only would this make the players happy (not that
  10. I think this is either that bitter multi-millionaire Daniel busted out (the one he respected as much as the janitor) or it's someone like Erick Lindgren or another pro pulling a vicious- yet ultimately if it were a prank, a hilarious one- prank.
  11. Jedi also made a comment to me on my blog about this whole ordeal. ridiculous.
  12. quit kissing daniel's ass by putting him on another level that other pros.
  13. I'm originally a cardplayer.com poster, and this idiot posted the exact same thread with the exact same content. So, to reiterate what i said on cardplayer:I dub thee "worst thread ever"
