  1. how long does it take to get a team, it says im on a waiting list?
It should just take a couple of days, and you will be assigned to a league, given players, etc. You then have to go through a licensing process which earns you some operating cash. The game play is fairly self-explanatory, but here's a quick guide one of my buddies created with some management tips (but there is all sorts of info out there, or you can send me a pm with specific questions):One of the first things to do is hire a new coach. It's under Training and the link is at the bottom right. Hire an external one, fond of attacking, poor leadership, passable skill level (external is cheaper then internal, you can't hire an internal one until you have lots of money and a proper player, you can worry about that later. Attacking is better because scoring goals keeps your fans happy which leads to more money, and passable skill is all you can really afford right now). The next thing is to pick a type of training. Immediately change your training level to 100% and set stamina training at around 7-10%. It doesn't matter what you choose as they are all different and have their advantages and drawbacks. Goalkeeping is the fastest overall (the players go up a level every five weeks or so) but you can only train two. But they are worth a lot of money at low levels, that's why it might be best to start off with it so you can be competitive earlier. Winger is pretty quick too but you only train four players fully (and 4 others at half speed). Scoring is hard because you need to play 3 forwards every game (to maximize training) which means you can't play the 3-5-2 formation which is the best at low levels since midfield is so important. Playmaking is really hard at first because you can't afford very good trainees in the beginning so your players really suck at first -- and PM training is very slow. Lastly is defending which is the slowest of all training because you can train up to 10 players. It's also really hard to win because defense isn't nearly as important as midfield and attack and if you play 5 defenders you are giving up one of those sectors. However, defenders are always worth a lot of money.Once you pick what you want to train, you can move on to the next stages which are actually buying your trainees and filling out your coaching staff.
  2. I don't want this thread to die, so I encourage that everyone take down some notes everytime they try a wine. There is no wrong answer to any of the notes that you jot down as you get what you get on the nose and mouth and it's a good way to learn. I'd also say that if you aren't used to using scores, don't put them down, especially if you don't have a point of reference to know what a 95-100 pt wine tastes like
This to me is definitely the key to enjoying wine, I just wish I was better about taking down notes. I just checked out this thread, and wanted to note a few of my favorites:I am definitely a Pinot fan, and my absolute favorite is Merry Edwards. Other California pinots I like are Williams Selyem, Davis Bynum, Papapietro Perry, and Miner (a rare good Napa pinot). For Oregon, I like Van Duzer and a small producer called Stevenson Barrie (met the winemakers several years ago, and then recently re-discovered them at a restaurant in Portland). The best wine I've ever had is probably the 1994 Colgin Herb Lamb cab. Close behind is the 2003 Colgin IX Estate; I finally got on their mailing list after waiting almost 5 years. It was definitely worth it. Also, and although it is a totally different wine, I was blown away by the 1990 Pol Roger Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill; if you like champagne, this is fantastic.Having said that, my tastes are far more down to earth and I like finding bottles <$10 since the quality is definitely there. I also enjoy a nice pink (not sweet) wine and am a proud Rose Avenger, check out: http://www.rapwine.com/. There are also some pretty exciting "urban" wineries here in the Bay Area (like Periscope), making a trip to Napa unnecessary.
  3. The very rare quadruple topic postYou might never see one again kids. Take notice. It almost deserves its own thread.
I guess I deserve that, and will probably be stepping away from the "submit" button for a while (jeez!). Whatever happened, that was pretty sick. It looks like two of them got deleted, so that's good. Anyway, I added the substance of the message to this post.
  4. Baked? I've never seen baked ones. Just regular ones.
You have been lucky. The regular ones are fine, but definitely avoid the baked style (although they are strangely addictive after you get over the fact that your mouth is on fire).
  5. Is anybody on the forum playing Hattrick: http://www.hattrick.org/?It's a soccer sim (rather than a fantasy league) that is really more about economics than sports. Even though most Americans don't like soccer, it's pretty addictive. If you play, post info about your team!

  6. Well done!

  7. please explain the bolded section, ty.
If you have any health or conscientious reason for being a vegetrarin (i.e., too fattening, unhealthy, hormones, conditions inhumane, etc.), grass-fed beef has none of these problems.I know many vegetarians who eat eggs and under any conditions egg producers subject chickens to conditions that are far worse than anything that would preclude someone from eating fine, humanely-raised beef.If you have other objections, to channel smash, good luck (lol).
  8. Anybody read Omnivore's Dilemma? Have you actually tried grass-fed beef? So delicious and so much better for you. Also, pretty much eliminates anyone's reason for being a vegetarian. My favorite is Prather Ranch, available at my local farmer's market.Discuss.
