  1. Might have something to do with the following facts:-- He is having one if not the greatest statistical seasons of all time-- He is a nearly unanimous MVP choice-- His team team has the best record in its conference despite not having any other significantly above average players at their position-- Oh yea, his team also leads the league in PPG allowed by almost 2 per game over nearly an entire season for a sample size. I'm just guessing the most freakish athlete the NBA has ever seen has played more than just a minor part in that.
  2. It's a business. Every business in America is going through change right now. I like Simmons more than anyone, but to write a whole column about how a business isn't profiting as much as it once was right now is kind of silly.
  3. Two guys who I grew up watching brodcast games in the 90's and now through this decade, and two faces of the Bulls franchise. I'll miss their passion for the Bulls and the game of basketball in general. They will be missed.
  4. Eh.Pretty sure there was never a mass exodus, by a group of, at worst, moderate part-time winners, and at best, several professional poker players, all at once. Or even close.
  5. I don't think zoo had anything to do with it as much as the fact that about 25 contributing, regular, winning poker players essentially stopped using this site as their main mode of communication all at once. Whether or not they should have is a fair question, but the fact is, they all did. So now there is a huge void where there was once a bunch of talent. The fact is, there a bunch of people that post here to regularly help each other make significant amounts of money. Like, money you can spend on bills and stuff. So when they just up and leave, it's gonna be different. It probably won
  6. I love pictures like that. I wish there was some way to go back in time and actually see what it was like back then in Vegas, or Chicago, etc
  7. Pretty much this. Jamie, I know you have a super keen poker mind, probably the best poker mind of anyone I've ever met. But I would seriously turn that line off and not really put any thought into it whatseover, ESPECIALLY for HU play. I wouldn't even say anything about it in a joking or venting manner. It's simply pointless.
  8. May be player dependant but I'm not a fan of this line in a vacuum, starting with the 2.5bb raise and going from there. As played my 4 bet is to about 22. As played I'm jamming pretty much any flop over a donk, and then as played I'm jamming the turn. I do call river as played though
  9. Yeah this site is going to be wayyyyyyyy different from this day forward
  10. This can vary depending on your skill, the amount of tables you are playing, and adjustments you make to your game mid-sample size, but I'd say 100k hands is enough to determine if you are a winning player or not at that level. At 6-max, to determine a long-term, moderately accurate winrate within a ptbb or so, probably a few hundred thousand hands. For HU, I think it will be the same sample size, but I don't think you can ever get really close to an exact long-term winrate. Over a few hundred thousand hands, you may win at 10, then over the next you may win at 12, then 6, then 5, etc. Yea
  11. Looks like Roothlus is in the final 4 of the warmup
  12. Best part:CoachNitball: again, you called a raise preflop with garbageNaismith: You didn't raise. CoachNitball: yes, i didNaismith: You trapped.CoachNitball: i don't limp with aa heads upNaismith: Weird, cause you did. Naismith: Dealt to Naismith [9s 4d] CoachNitball calls $1 Naismith checksCoachNitball: then the gauge didn't move up when i clicked potNaismith: Wow, that sucks.Naismith: You should e-mail FTP about that.Dealer: Naismith has 15 seconds left to actNaismith: That sounds like a software issue.CoachNitball: what i should email ftp about is the odds of you continously getting hands t
  13. That is without a doubt the single greatest post I have ever read. There isn't a close second. I started laughing with "and he tells me with a straight avatar" and never stopped laughing the rest of the way.
  14. I was literally screaming at the TV when Stacey King was over there saying the players were getting hurt by switching.YOUR RETARD COACH IS CALLING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!The switching has been making me go nuts for a few weeks now and today it was just brutally obvious Indiana had studied it, and they exploited the hell out of it. Sigh.
  15. Meh. Situation sucks postflop here. You know you are gonna face this situation, and when you miss the flop, what are you supposed to do? Now you leave yourself with 27 BB's instead of potentially accumulating a monster stack with what very well could be the best hand to begin with.
  16. I'm going up against cwik this round. No shit talking necessary...he'll run crappy and I'll advance
  17. Yea you've gotta shove pre here, nothing else is really even an option
  18. Matt hasn't done anything particularly offensive in a really long time.Back in the day in the challenge thread though, he was SUPER annoying.
