When do I slow down in this hand? Should I have folded pre-flop after the re-raise? The player was LAG. I made a similar post a week or so ago. I play the same level as you 0.50 - 1 at party. My % vol pot is 33%, with pfr 19%. The advice I got was to see less flops but raise more when entering. This advice applies even more so for you looking at your stats. When I posted it was asking about moving up a level to 1-2 as my win rate over 1600 hands was 6BB/100. I was told that over this sample size this was literally a spit in the atlantic and that I had many a wave to ride, and that I was kidding myself if I thought that this could be maintained........... i kidded myself....and lost a few sessio

My regular game has become a pot limit hold'em game. I live in england and the blinds are £1-£2 but betting post-flop is in £5 increments only and the amount able to be bet post flop is rounded up i.e. if pot is £37, you may bet £40. Due to the pot limit nature and £5 increment rule players tend to make large % - full pot bets. In light of this what strategy adjustments should I make? I tend to play a big card / pocket pair game as I believe that it becomes unprofitable to play drawing hands as Im not given the correct odds to draw. Any other thoughts or recomendations?

Alot of the value of AK comes from the fact that it is very rarely an underdog (only to Aces / Kings) but also it is rarely that much of a favourite and only hits 1/3 of the time. However, the fact that it is rarely an underdog means that you should re-raise with it pre-flop so that you need not 'get lucky' and hit the flop. I believe that most of its value is its 'fold equity' pre-flop of other hands. By smooth calling you loose a large part of its value. This is what I've done in tournaments but my regular game is now a pot limit hold'em game (i live in england). In the game, it's quite diff

Im being a retard, and am unable to use the FTR converter on zerodivide.cx properly. Im trying to post a party poker hand, so have copied the entire hand history email that was sent to me into the input box. I then press convert hand and this is what appears in the output box:( handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxFinal Pot: Then according to instructions I just paste this on the forum? Am I missing something?Sorry to be an idiot.

I've been playing quite a bit of 0.5 - 1 six max at party and have found myself making the following play on occassion. Suppose I get a 'drawing hand' such as 9 10 or 8 9 in LP after two limpers. Instead of just calling I'll raise. My thinking is that this builds the pot so that I will be getting the correct odds to call my draws on the flop / turn. e.g. if I don't raise (assume SB folds BB checks) then the pot will be 2.25BB on the flop and so 2.75 if bet to me. This gives me odds to draw to OESD / flush on flop but possibly not on the turn if a blank falls. However, if I raise pf (ass

I've been playing 6 max $0.50-$1 limit at party and have been doing well recently, my pokertracker stats are as follows:Hands: 1,447Vol Put $ in pot: 36%PF raise: 19.6%Went to SD: 31%Won $% at SD: 51%wON $ % WSF: 37%Aggression factor: 2.54BB / 100 hands: 5.69These stats are since I started playing. I feel that I've improved somewhat since and so believe that my currecnt true BB / 100 is actually about 7BB / 100. I feel that I've found a decent strategy at this level of being incredibly aggressive in position and either fold / raise pre-flop. With this win rate, should I move up to playing $1

He plays as 'thesalmon' on ladbrokes, which is a european site mainly. He is their biggest winner to date and has apparantly made $10m there. There's a cardplayer article here: http://www.cardplayer.com/cpcollege/articl...a_id=139&m_id=7On the point about him getting good at things, apparantly he has a bet with Ivey I think that he'll win a US pro golf tournamnet in the next 10 years, for $1m or something absurd.

When heads up in a pot, against a potential draw I usually bet between 1/2 - 2/3 of the bot giving my opponent 3/1 - 2/1 drawing odds. However, I am unsure how much to bet and if this changes against two opponents. In the below example, because there were two opponents BigGromtn's drawing odds significantly improved. I did not take this into account. This coupled with his implied odds (massive) made his calls justifiable, although I believe his initial call on the flop to be slightly dubious but given the implied odds acceptable. My min raise on the flop was horrible. I realise now that I w

Thanks for the advice so far; but it seems to be a double edged sword. If the flop comes rags they're unlikely to give you credit for hitting, while if the flop comes say Q J 4 and you have AK then I wouldn't like to bet as J or Q are cards that they are likely to have. This is what I find difficult.

I've just realised that I've included more examples of ones that worked than didn't. I didnt really mean to, they're just the first continuation bets that I found in my recent hand histories. I'm actually having problems rather than great success with continuation bets and so would appreciate some criticism /guidance rather than just saying 'yes' most of those worked.

Im finding it quite difficult to know when to make continuation bets, / what size etc, specifically in SnG tournaments. From cardplayer.comDate / Time: 2005-12-14 23:04:00 Title: Joe Cassidy Wins a Huge Pot Against Patrik Antonius to Take the Chip Lead Log: With the board showing 9s-6d-5d-Qh-Jd on the river, Joe Cassidy bets about $100,000 into a roughly $500,000 pot, and Patrik Antonius raises to $300,000. Cassidy makes an incredible call with Ad-7c (ace high). Sure enough, Antonius shows Ah-3d, and Cassidy's kicker plays to win the entire pot. Joe Cassidy is our new chip leader with approximately $1.45 million, while Antonius is down to $500,000. I cannot get my head around this call. There is so, so little t

backdoor flushes and questions.

I'd have put him on KQ, I don't see how he can have the diamond flush draw, unless he has KdQd; in which case surely he'd just call the turn as he is effectively free-rolling. -
No, if 3:1, need to win > 25% to be + EV (1/(3+1)).In this case 1.3: 1 so need to win 1/(1.3+1) or 43% to be a +EV.
