  1. Or play 6 max at your current level. It tests you more at the current stakes, and develops skills such as blind play that you'll need to sharpen up before moving up limits. And it'll 'train' you to handle bankroll swings more than full ring.
  2. Tough hand. Im struggling to put villan on a hand , A 10 ?I'd probably raise the turn . If re-raised, call and fold UI on river. If called, check behind or call on river UI.
  3. Fold in SB with 92,;seeing as you called fold to the raise pre flop from the BB, then after your flop bet was raised and called fold on the flop.
  4. Id call, then check call UI
  5. I think that you certainly overdid it pre-flop. Three betting with KJ out of position isn't a great idea. Especially when the initial raise has already been called in 2 places. I like the raise on the flop but beware that if you don't hit your flush be prepared to check call or check fold on the river if its bet and called. You're facing AA, AK or QK.
  6. Definite fold. It's a relatively small pot and a raise, or call, call will cost you some bets which I don't believe justify the risk reward ratio of the pot, seeing as the players that are still in the pot are the most likely to have a made boat, or even quads. Also a small pocket pair giving a boat is a likely holding for a player in the blinds calling a pre-flop raise in my experience.
  7. As he check called the flop and then checked the turn can we not rule out AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AJ? Other holdings such as AK, TT, 99, 88 that are beating us I think he may fold to a bet on the turn. On the turn the pot is 5.5 BB and so assuming I fold to any raise, or check fold the river, a turn bet only has to win 1 in 5.5 times (18%) to be + EV. If he is calling with an underpair to the jack, I even have 6 outs to win (I will do 13% of the time). I think that betting the turn is correct based on his pattern of post flop play.
  8. But do you bet the turn UI when check called on the flop?
  9. I call pre-flop.Re-raising may mean that you win more pots but less money. Ideal situation with 7s is large multi-way pot when you hit a set.

  12. Yes, well done for folding on the river and saving a bet.
  13. Fold on the flop, an EP player has bet into you with a couple of players behind you. They clearly have some part of the flop, so at best your'e drawing to six outs if you're not raised on the flop. Even if you hit an A or K on the turn this may make them two pair!On the turn call for you're gutshot straight only if you're getting the odds to hit your jack, don't count the A or K as outs as like I said this will likely give someone 2 pair.

  15. I'm also a convert from NL and am absolutely loving limit.I'd be wary about moving up, as with the higher standard of play you may struggle to maintain a +ve win rate moving up. I'd read SSHE and Lee Jones to try and up your win rate at $1/2. I've learnt alot from these books and this forum in quite a short time.
  16. Very good advice. With that hand you have 15 outs and so hit the very likely winning hand about 54% of the time. Therefore, on the flop your aim is to get as much money into the pot as possible. Aggression on the flop may also 'buy' you the extra card if you miss on the turn. If you miss the turn and check then it is very likely to correct to call any bet on the turn as you'll be almost 2: 1 to hit any of your outs.Try to take a long term view, even if you have nights when you seem to miss every draw no matter how strong. Play strong draws aggressively. If you are 2:1 favourite and get 2 caller
  17. You often hear about where Ivey, DN, Chip, Doyle play and a what stakes but where and at what stakes do other world class players such as Layne Flack, Ted Forrest, Allan Cunningham, Erick Lindgren, Howard Lederer etc play?
  18. I have seen the option to change my name on partypoker but if I do so, is there a way to merge my pokertracker stats from my old screen name with new stats for my new screename?
  19. I'd bet the blank on the turn and then fold if raised. If called I'd check fold the river.

I'd be more cautious than most and just call the river. I would think that one has a flush.
  21. I'm sure you're beat. What are you hoping he has that you can beat A10? His set of jacks just made a full house I think.
  22. I'd bet. Looks like they missed their draws, but you may get a bet from someone with a 7 or 8. Clearly they don't have a jack or trip 7s or 8s, as they'd have been betting to deter those drawing. If they have a K you have a good kicker. With AK they'd have raised pre-flop.
  23. Call pre-flop. Lead into the flop. Fold if raised / called or called / raised. Bet into turn. If called / raised check call the river.
  24. Thanks for the advice. I'm actually suprised how most of you suggested call rather than fold. I would lean towards folding but in this case the way the player was acting swayed me. Earlier in the evening he slow played a full house to let an opponent catch a flush and then extracted an all in from his opponent. In this pot his demeaneur was slouched back in his chair and lethargic. However, in the hand against me he was leaning forward with his elbows on the table and his head resting on his hands staring at me so intensely. It was completely different to how he acted with his fullhouse. Bas

Live 8 handed Pot limit Hold'em, blinds £1 - £2.Two mid position limpers then in late position a LAG who's been on a rush and has about £350 behind, he raises up to £9, folded to me in SB with K Q . I call the extra £7. I have a tight-weak image as I haven't had a hand for literally hours and each time I've been raised I've folded (as I've been holding marginal hands). Two limpers fold.Flop: Q 8 3 I check, villain says to dealer pot and is this game betting post flop is rounded up to nearest £5, so villain is told he can bet £25 into £23 pot. I re-raise £25 to £50.
