Thanks for the replies everyone... I held it together after that pretty well and was pleased with my over all play...The hand I busted him on later was classic, I called for 15 with 5 people in on the flop w/ 2-2 and flopped a set, he bet on the button 40 and I smooth called... everyone else dumped. turn blanked, I fired out 50 and he called... river was a blank and he said screw it I can't win... my reply "well sh*t, if you can't win I'll take that pot for 75!" He called and I flipped a set, he dropped an f bomb followed by nice hand.

I'm just getting comfortable playing NL live and this is the only game going at our local casino's with several people playing in the game that do it for a living.I jump in for the 300 max buy in and build my stack to just over 900 with in 2 hours. Seat 6 is a solid player who I have just bullied, I beat him out of several pots and he kept commenting that he was going to bust me.He is UTG and I'm in seat 10. He bumps it to $25, a standard raise on his part plus he is a little steamed. UTG +1 calls, I get pocket 10's... I raise it to $55 to isolate and I truely think I have him dominated at

nicely done.

Barry Greenstein raises to $60,000 from very early position and Devin Porter reraises $200,000 more. Greenstein immediately moves all in, and Porter calls. Greenstein shows A-K, and Porter shows A-J. Greenstein has Porter in bad shape as we head to the flop. The flop comes Jh-6c-4h and the tables have turned, now Greenstein needs a king to stay alive. The turn brings the 4s, and the river the 3c, and Greenstein is eliminated on a bad beat. Barry Greenstein earns $30,000 (which will undoubtedly be given to charity) for his efforts. Barry Greenstein keeps a copy of his book, "Ace on the River,"

I think at that point it is a 50:50 prop and it all comes down to reads. If you think the young kid would over play AA/KK you would have to call... hell he could even think he was golden with a hand like A/JBut you also have to figure out the hidden outs, would any of them play a hand like Q/10 in that situation etc.It is really hard to make that call with two people also willing to go all in.I see both sides of both call and fold... I'm interested to see how the hand played out personally.

I personally I have not sat at those games, I played a rotating 4/8 once... it was a tough game, I was also hammered at 3am when I sat down...But I have friends who have played there and he said they are very very loose.
-
Hollywood in shreveport had a solid 4/8 game, I walked in one night and totally cut the game to bits in 2 hours. While I was there I saw a 10-20 and a 20-40 going on.New Orleans Harrah's is a good one for most basic stakes, but the big game there is Omaha... they have all sorts of half and half games, pot limit, and spread limit omaha games.
-
3-6-12 only... 10-20 and 1-3 / 5-5 no limit daily... 20-40 on weekends and occasionally you'll find a pretty cut throat 15 - 30 pot limit / no limit
-
OK, if you are goin this weekend you will find alot of sharks among the 3-6 tables... Alot of the weekday 10-20 players will play 3-6 all weekend b/c the money is so good... be prepared to endure swings, but the pay off is huge.I would go meet up w/ ya but I'm having to save some money right now.BTW, I live in Lake Charles, I prefer the Isle.

I'm above average in an EASY $30 buy in tourny with 12 people... in the big blind I have A/Q os... Blinds are 25/50, 4 people in the pot, I raise 250...UTG calls... everyone else folds.Flop hits Qc,8s,4c...I have 4500 in chips... I go all-in... (player history) the guy UTG is willing to call with any middle pair... with that board he would call with 9-9, A-8 etc... I push wanting him to fold while I have top pair, a pot here would have been nice b/c I had been playing tight... especially after doubling up off quads. He calls... he has 3900 in chips, I know I have him crushed... how crushed...

Horrid feeling, been there done that.Perk up, you got 2nd out of 53... it really does account for something.
-
I laughed at that one.
