2. hey,my standard line after raising pre-flop has been to cbet (thanks to all who helped me there..it has done wonders for my game). But on a situation like this...should I slow down?Absolute PokerNo Limit Holdem Ring gameBlinds: $0.10/$0.256 playersConverterPre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG+1 with A J UTG folds, [color:#cc0000]Hero raises to $0.75, CO folds, Button calls, SB folds, BB calls.Flop: 9 T A ($2.35, 3 players)BB checks, [color:#cc0000]Hero bets $1.25, 2 folds.Uncalled bets: $1.25 returned to Hero. 3. Hey everyone,I have been reading a lot of the NL posts, and got some advice about when to raise and stuff liek that.Anyway...the past two days your advice has really worked. I have been raising a lot more pre-flop and the cbetting almost every flop and people keep folding.I am making my raises VERY consistant, and my flop bets just as consistent.I haven't actually won very many hands based on the cards I have...I'm just taking down small pot after small pot and it adds up. Plus people start to play back at me a bit so when I do pick up a real hand I can hammer them.It seems I've FINALLY figu
4. Ok...I see I pretty much botched that entire hand up and it cost me.I think I need to be more focused on getting in my raises preflop to take control of the hand and doing it in position. When I am out of position...is there a limit to the hands I should be raising? Just High pairs and AK AQ suited or shoudl I expand that even?Remember, this is 6-max.Thanks guys,AFW
5. Hey everyone,NL 6 handed .10/.25 BlindsI was in the BB with Q4o and it was limped around to me so I checked with 4 other players in the hand. The flop came QQ6 with two hearts. I was in early position and I bet .75 into a 1.25 pot and everyone folded. Was this the right move...or should I have checked it? I didn't want to see another heart come up.I know you guys don't like slowplaying, except in the safest of situations...did I just get unlucky that no one else had anything? Should I have bet less?Sorry if this is elementary...I'm just starting to learn the game for real.
6. Hey everyone...this is the first time I have posted a hand. I have to do this by hand because I can't get a converter to work wtih Absolute. 7. Hey, I'm back from work now with my numbers. Here are my aggression numbers...which seem stupid now that I look at them.PreFlop - 0.13Flop - 1.84Turn - 2.69River - 3.90Total - 0.73So I see I need to raise more Preflop. I'll try to stick with some of the standards you have set and raise more in LP with the hands I would normally limp with.Good plan?
8. Hey,I'm at work and won't be home until late tonight so I don't know exactly what the numbers are. My reasoning for not raising that much pre-flop (yes I only tend to raise bigger cards) is that it doesn't seem to be that effective at chasing people out at these levels. My standard PF raise is ususally to 1.00 (at .25 blinds) and I will often get 2-3 callers. Someone is probably going to hit that flop and it's very hard to chase them them out of a hand once they have hit anything. As I am sure you know, these low levels aren't very skillful, including myself! I also rarely re-raise.As for
9. Hey everyone...I finally hit 10k hands!!! It's taken me a while, mostly because I can't play more than 1 table at once without hemmoraging my chips away.Anyway...Here is some info I've gotten from Poker Tracker...let me know if you want more. This is exclusively NL 6-Max, and the highest dollar amount has been .25/.50 blinds, which I just started about 300 hands ago.Hands: 10,150VPIP 44.26VPIP from SB 74.57Folded SB to steal 72%Folded BB to steal 54%Won $ when saw flop 36.23%Amount Won $307.95Win rate 6.91 bb/100Went to Showdown 20.9%Won $ at showdown 52.3%Raised Preflop 5.6 %Agression FactorF
10. Hey Everyone.I assume that this has been done and I am curious if anyone has it. I am looking for a chart that states the percentages of any hand winning against another hand. I'm a nerd so I am interested in that type of thing. Is there some chart somewhere on the interweb that shows that? Thanks for your help.AFW
11. Royal (or anyone else)...I know having a proper bankroll is important so I try to keep enough in my account to not worry about anything. My qusetion is more about the psycholgical aspect of having to bet or call a higher amount of money to play the game. I find myself calling instead of raising because I am concered about losing too much. I don't have this problem in $25 NL. What do you do to combat that.I suppose the 2nd qusetion is more psychological too. I KNOW when I am beat...what can I tell myself to just lay it down even though I have a good hand. Knowing how to do this will earn
12. Well...actually I need help with way more than 2 things...but we'll stick with these two for now.I while back I was asking ya'll for a bunch of basic poker advice and it helped. I couldn't play for about 4 months, but then this April I started again. Party Poker gave me $20 to play with so I used that to try to build up. Luckilly for me, I haven't had to re-deposit yet...so that's good.Anyway...I play $25 NL on party and I win way more sessions than I lose. I have built up to $300, which I am pretty excited about. (I know you people have pots that are more than that...but I'm not there yet
13. hmmm...No I won't be playing NL only, but i do seem to play it more than I play LHE.Are the starting hand requirements different for NL? I've read SS once, but I didn't really get a lot out of the NL section...it seemed like it would apply to stakes higher than what I am playing. Maybe I'm wrong though.I will be picking up a copy of SS2 today to re-read it though. What is reccomended reading for NL?
14. WHAT'S UP.I just wanted to update you on what has been going on the past couple days at the poker table for me.#1 - I downloaded the trial version of Pokertracker (as was reccomended to me). Holy crap. This program is awesome. I am somewhat of a stats junkie, so this is sweet. I've only got about 400 hands on it so far though. I figure my real poker "career" starts now...after talking to you guys, and reading SSHE and using poker tracker. So far so good as I am up 17BB/hr. Which sounds really impressive until you realize that It is the $25 NL table at Party. Also, I know thats not a sus
