llou replied to FCP Matt's topic in General Poker Forum
Nice. I just woke up and decided to check the status before going to work. Now I will have something to look forward to all day. Good ol' 10 7 off.BTW: I using the official WSOP tournament site for updates. Their coverage is much more up-to-date and thorough than in past years.... and congratulations to Mike Matasow on winning his bracelet. I wonder how long he will hold on to that 500K. -
June 4: $1000 No Limit Hold'em W Rebuys Day #2 5pm Est

I just got home and turned on my computer.Yipee! -
Sorry, chrozzo ... but that would be PwETA, not PETA.I live very near PETA's headquarters, and we locals say, "People Eating Tastey Animals." I see the PETA people coming to work each day -- with their pets. They can bring their pets to work with them. I guess that's kind'a like packing their lunch. Maybe they don't have a cafeteria in their building.

I already have a hat ... from a previous contest. But since we are limited to picking only people whose legal names we can spell, it might not matter.
-
On a poker forum. For one brief moment, I considered it ... one VERY brief moment.
-
By the time I get to this forum at night, I am too to decipher multiple paragraphs blurred into one paragraph.Did the OP say anything remotely interesting?

OK .... No joke ... I'm putting my nursing cap on.Daniel, go to your doctor and tell him/her about the dizzy spells. Make sure your lab work is OK ... your blood pressure ... etc. It would be stupid to ignore the many possibilities (most of which are easily treatable.) It sounds as if your dizzy spells are NOT occurring during or soon after exercise ... so, they might be a little more complicated. It might just be your diet, but why gamble about your health when it is so easy to play it safe and get a proper diagnosis before prescribing treatment for yourself?

I wondered that, too. I certainly understand that Daniel wouldn't want to discuss his love life in his blog -- and I respect him for that. I certainly wouldn't discuss my love life on the Internet (if I had one.)... But when he kept saying "we" in his blog, I think he invited the question.
-
Yep. I just turned 53. There are lots of mature people at FCP -- and people with very responsibe jobs, etc. Some of my favorite old threads have been those in which we "confessed" those types of things. A lot of people come here to relax and leave the mature, responsible people we have to be in our brick and mortar lives behind for a little while.
-
Maybe it was me ... and I just didn't want you all to see my face.
-
Why should my heart be breaking? Maybe I just didn't want you all to see my face. Please don't put me in the same category as Tyness. I've never done anything to deserve that.... and BTW ... I'm old enough to be Daniel's mother.
-
Yep. I love mistakes like that. They make me laugh.I'll be rooting for him today. But if I were ever to play against him, I would prefer to rout him.
-
No flames here. I always get the same feeling when he writes an "all fired up" blog. Someone (more nerdy than I) should go back and analyze his results after writing such blogs. I'll bet his results after such blogs are worse than his average. But I'll be routing for him, of course ...
-
He still hasn't identified who "we" is. I suspect he likes teasing us with it. He likes dangling the "we" in front of us without identifying his traveling companion.
-
I know, this is just a gossip thread ... but who is the "we" mentioned at the end of Daniel's blog today? Who is he traveling with? Who's going with him to visit his aunt?Anyone worth gossiping about? and yes, I am a woman -- not a gay man.
-
Yep. I'm a woman -- not gay.( ... not that there's anything wrong with that.)
-
He seemed to invite comments ... so ... I'll oblige. I thought it looked as good as I have ever seen it. In fact, he looked pretty good overall -- rested, healthy, happy, etc.

Doesn't Erick Lindren Look Just Like Steve Wojciechowski?
llou replied to ShaneO19's topic in General Poker Forum
Thank you! I knew Erick reminded me of someone and I could never put my finger on it.Steve Wojciechowski ... yep, that's it. -
...except in the context of an athletic contests. It seems that "anything goes" as long as guys are wearing uniforms and keeping score.
-
Exactly. If he were ONLY the loud super self-confident, always the life of the party poker star ... I wouldn't be such a fan. It's blog entries like this one that make a lot us come to this site regularly. Being privy to Daniel's thoughts as he tries something new, stretches a little, and continues to grow as a person is inspirational -- even if we don't know the details of what he's been up to.Enjoy your journey, Daniel. Thanks for giving us a glimpse.

1. A couple of loser-homophobes have assumed I am a gay man. They have gotten rather cruel. I'm a straight woman -- but it bothers me that they would say those things and the gay men have to put up with such c***.2. One drunk guy, after doing the homophobic thing directed at me ... started challenging the table to do math problems to prove he was better at math than we were. He was a junior-high math teacher who kept bragging about how smart one of his students was. He was a real loser in every sense of the word.

It's blogs like this one that have drawn many of us here -- not just the part where he writes about his parents, but also where he accepts responsibililty for having made a mistake in Germany. The honest look at an actual life of a poker player -- part poker success, part poker mistake, part family -- a real human life story of a good man reflecting on his life.Like many people in this thread, my parents have also died. My Dad died almost 10 years ago and Mom died in 2002. My 3 siblings and I have maintained good relationships and function well as a family, but I still often wish my parents
