  1. Me, too ... though I went to bed at the dinner break, so I am not really surprised. At least he doesn't owe Ivey the 200K.
  2. Is this really more up-to-date than the official WSOP site? The WSOP seems seems much better than last year ... though the seem a little slow tonight.http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/tourney/...11&tid=4934
  3. I've made that same typo before. I actually know how to spell the word, but I'm careless when I type on forums -- and don't use spell check. It's my version of "living on the edge."
  4. Except for wanting Daniel to win, of course ....My sentiments about routing for players are in conflict with each other. On one hand, I would love to see a dream final table like everyone else. However, I don't have all those players in my fantasy pool team. So, part of me only want the ones on my team to do well. So, I'm rooting for Doyle and Gabe to make the final table figuring that not many people have them on their teams, either.
  5. I forgot it was on. Thanks for the reminder -- maybe. As I just turned it on, I will not pass judgement yet. But so far, it doesn't look good.
  6. I had to go to bed when they broke for dinner last night.Aaaahhhhhhh.... What a nice start to my day! My top 3 (sentimental) choices:1. DN2. Doyle3. Gabe
  7. That was my first thought. I read somewhere that there is a big "celebrity" fund-raiser tonight. But unfortunately, Obama's handlers would never allow him to be photographed with a poker-player. While we all know that we are a respectable and large constituency, it would be politically risky for a candidate to be too closely associated with the gaming industry in general. But Daniel could attend that fundraiser as one of a large crowd of celebrities ...Edit: I just read that the top-level tickets for the event are $30,000. I don't see Daniel having any trouble at all dropping 30K for one of
  8. I doubt it. He had his knee surgery today ... but I did think of him.
  9. That's what I thought when I read what I had written. Thus, the clarification.I hope all is well with you.
  10. Hey ... I was just throwing an idea out there to play with, not writing a formal proposal to an publisher. Yes, biographies of a group of players would be best written by a professional writer, but I don't see anybody doing that. And a book of edited autobiographies could be interesting in a different way. Daniel might not want to tackle something like that ... but the idea might stimulate him to adapt it in some way that he might want to try. It didn't hurt to bring it up.As for it the general subject matter fitting into some academic discipline, I can see it -- though it would be unconve
  11. Enjoy the show, you deserve it. You've provided the rest of us with a great service.
  12. The updates on the WSOP official site is also pretty up-to-date.
  13. I couldn't get the ESPN360 to work right. It finally crashed my computer a few minutes ago. I have just now gotten re-booted.If the feed comes back, I hope someone will announce it here in case I get the balls to try yet again.
  14. HELP! Last time, I was able to watch the ESPN360 broadcast with minimal problems. It lagged and got behind real time and crashed right at the end ... but it was still OK to watch and hear and did not permanent harm to my computer.Today, I seemed to get into it just fine. However, I get no sound and it will only give me about 3 seconds of action. Then it freezes. If I hit the "Go Live" button, it jumps to the current action -- for about 3 seconds.Any suggestions anyone?llou
  15. I really enjoy hearing/reading the stories about how your career developed over time. Like everyone else, you started as a beginner without a lot of money and built your bankroll as you developed your skills. You had your ups and downs, made some mistakes, learned from those mistakes, etc.The insight into the life and career development of a poker player is one of the key features of your blog (and some of your columns) that have made them so popular. People interested in poker want to see that side of it too -- not just the hand histories, strategies, and tallying of wins of losses. So ....
  16. It's great to see Daniel getting the chance to "bask in the glory" of his victory and savor the moment a little with us. The little trip down memory lane was very satisfying.GB, Daniel. (Good Blog. Maybe a new FCP term?)
  17. Yep. Tim Russert was a good guy who tried to get to the heart of the issues. His work had much more depth than so many of the so-called journalists today. The man was a valuable contributer to our national political scene -- elevating the discussion rather than bringing it down to the trash that sometimes passes for political discussion these days.On a personal level, it is equally sad. His family must be in a state of shock right now.
  18. I can't believe it, just as they were starting to play the last hand. It has taken me this long to get it up and running again. After all the tournaments I have railed here ... I miss seeing the actual winning of a bracelet! Well ... he's just going to have to do it again so that I can watch. I am thinking maybe the HORSE event ... or ... maybe the Main Event.GG Daniel. Congratulations
  19. I have earthlink ... but it is DSL through my phone line. I get my phone via verizon. I am getting the feed, but it is a couple minutes slower than oziumrules' feed.
  20. I'm starting to love getting this type of information before I see it in the broadcast. I can relax and enjoy the hand without have to worry.
  21. Wow ... Some of the comments from you guys are a hand ahead of my ESPN360 broadcast. I read it from you, then I see it in the broadcast.Actually, I don't mind it. It's less stressful that way.
  22. I agree. ... But I was hoping to hear at least a little of what the players were saying. It would help if the announcers stopped talking.
  23. lol As I was typing to ask you all how to increase the volume of the ESPN360, they improved it.But it's still a bit of a problem for me as I am hearing impaired. My computer is turned all the way up. Does anybody know a way to increase the volume?
  24. Whew! I'm only going to be a little late for work today.
