Mainly cuz your kicker is horrible...so anyone that is a solid player who is calling the flop is likely ahead of you. Any more than 4 handed...I'd might be check/folding trips no kicker in MP. You probably needed to fill up to win...am I right? Once you hit the turn...your play is fine though.
-
Not sure where you got that from. It's 1 in 16 to hit the case queen. Nevertheless, muck this fast. Why waste more money on a hand that is going to make you check/fold the flop 90% of the time? I know people hate forfeiting blind bets...but sometimes it's a good idea.
-
Absolutely. I really hate betting a lot OOP unless you know the half you are betting for right now is safe against any future cards. For example....don't be betting straights very hard OOP....even if they are the nuts.If they are a chronic low chaser and do this low hand type bluff often....you can call if you think the low is all they got....but it's really really risky, and you will get scooped whenever you're wrong. And with these types of players....punish their *** when you have nut low + decent high hand.
-
Eh, it depends on you really. Some people are better suited to PLO8 than LO8...and vice versa. If you really get attached to nut low draws for instance...I would play LO8...hitting nut low usually will never make you lose tons of money. When I first started playing PLO8...i was a better LO8 player....now I have changed my strategy in PLO8, and I think it's flip-flopped now...lol

Please Stop Explaining The "rules To No Limit Texas Hold 'em"...

The WSOP also stopped rules introductions in 2005. Except for non-Holdem games...which I wish they'd show more of....grrrrrrrrrrrrr -
I Dont Think I'm Supposed To Call This Flop
Vman96 replied to antistuff's topic in Other Poker Cash Games
It's a marginal call...especially if the other guy has A2. And when you hit your gin card...as you can see...you couldnt get another dime from top set (my guess on what he had). I probably would fold here...but I'm a weak-tight little *****...lol -
I'd like to see this hand cheap. Would fold to a significant raise OOP.Jam the flop....as the OP said, you were a 4 to 3 fave over a set. You have to push your huge draws like this...so that's why it is best to be properly rolled for this game.
-
Yes, unless you have a read i would just call the raise...most pot bets in these scenarios aren't without the nuts. And I seriously doubt he is raising with less than AT....and if he is...cut him a break, note it, and nail his dumbass next time
-
Even if you could get it all in on the flop...I am not a huge fan in doing so as you have crap for low potential.Just complete the SB and play for a set, or look to hit a nut flush. People who get attached to AA too much are my friends :DIn PLO8, the only AA hands I tend to play agressively are AA with a wheel card...particularly with a 2 or 3.
-
I probably fold here. You may be getting 2 to 1 on your money, but the type of draw you have is not that good to hit/hold up against a set....which is a distinct possibility. You want to have wrap draws to call pot bets...not just OESD's. I highly doubt you're EV is greater than 1/3rd at this point.
-
I agree. Also this was a key point. You cant worry being behind too much here on the turn. I dunno if I would have stopped at 7 bets on the turn. Maybe up to 10 for me. River...yeah that sucks bad. I guess you can check/call here...but considering he has been asking questions on the game at the table...I might bet/call.This dude may think its like holdem and is terribly overvaluing AA....and sucked out on the river.

Would Love For Daniel To Discuss This Hand Of His

Burnnnnnnnnned! You're the insult master! (Aqua Teen Hunger Force quote)And you're right...nice example too. -
Depends on if he has made a move like this before in these 32 hands. If not...a fold is okay. If he has done this a few times already...call and pay off if he has it.
-
it depends on your reads...if you sense that they have hands that would fold to the all-in at least 75% of the time and only call with an overpair more than maybe 10% of the time....it isn't a bad play. But I hoped you changed gears after that since you showed your cards. What did MP have....did you win?Live is more about playing the players anyway compared to online...so if you think you have a good read...nothing wrong with going with it.
-
I am along similar lines...but I don't bother raising in LP if there are 3 limpers already....Even if you knock out the blinds...you are playing AA4 four handed = not good...unless you hit a set, JJx or 23.
-
With 3 callers the whole way....and then facing a bet and a call on the river...you should be able to fold even for 10-1. And if you would have won the pot, make sure you ***** out the caller not the bettor. lolYou could bet/fold or check/call otherwise, but I would only check/call if no one else called the bettor. And only call the bettor if you know he might bluff here. Most people don't bluff a lot in O/8.
-
It's fairly reasonable. And the lower limit you play the more reasonable it is. If the guy is a solid player though...who wouldn't pot-raise without a big hand or draw....you should consider mucking it on an uncoordinated board. If the guy is a lagtard and willing to do this with only 2 pair, you have to pay him off if he has it.

I think hogbird and dumbanimal try to work together to push people out of the pot. (Call it collusion or being dumb...depends on how effective they are overall). However they shouldn't have done so with such trash PLO hands. Definitely isn't worth the risk for the $250 they are trying to steal.Look at these limit hold 'em examples (taken from another forum):Here are a couple of the hands Gassit is the victim in hand one Hand #30428937-13526 at Owen Sound ($300/$600 Hold'em) Powered by UltimateBet Started at 02/Apr/06 05:22:12 GASSITT is at seat 0 with $31183. dumbanimal is at seat 2 with $1

check it....you gain little value from betting unless he is a horrible calling station....and you open yourself up to a possible bluff if you bet again.

Heads Up, Facing Big Re-raise On Flop
Vman96 replied to QWithATray's topic in Other Poker Cash Games
This is a good point. Middle set with no other possibilities is not good. You should only push when your high hand is less vulerable...(i.e. made boat on turn) Since you raised though....folding to the push is probably good...unless your friend is clueless about the game. -
Stud Hi/lo (8) And Nobody Goes Low!
Vman96 replied to Rocketwadster's topic in Other Poker Cash Games
muck on 3rd being first to act after the bring-in. I really hate playing high pairs in Stud8 personally. I would only open-raise if I was one of the last to act, hoping to ante steal. 4th street on was alright though.Edit: one of your queens is dead!! Fold immediately. -
I would probably try to blind steal here. Post flop you played it okay....but I hate having naked top set with 2 connected lows. You're a dog against good drawing hands. Assuming your opponent put you on a naked set....this is a pretty clear chase for him.
-
You gotta swim in the Pacific. Limit Omaha and Limit O8 is all they have. Game is a complete joke too.Usually there is a 1/2, 2/4 and 5/10 game going. Right now 2/4 or 3/6.People really misunderstand limit Omaha. A tight player can really profit from it.
-
Yeah waiting for a safe turn card may be better here...because pushing the flop gives KK close to the right price to gamble. However, I don't mind the push because freerolling against a naked straight could be happening here too. You didn't make a bad play....but had a bit of bad luck.
