Muck predraw. Problem Solved. As played though, not much you can do here. 3 betting isn't terrible on the last round, just unlucky.
-
Hand 1 is alright: the odds you are ahead arent clear. If you are ahead, you gain one. If you are behind you could lose 2.Hand 2: After the 1st draw you played it ok.Hand 3: Raise predraw. After the first draw, just calling is ok, but if you had a 1 card 7 draw, i would raise. Last two betting rounds are ok.Hand 4: Breaking the rough 8 going into the second draw isnt a terrible idea, here. Either way is marginal. But as played, no way in hell you bet after the 3rd draw. BB is very dangerous here considering the predraw action. He probably has 3 ranks he can beat you with. SB probably has at least 2 ranks. For SB, hitting an "8 outer" is 1 - (36/44)*(35/43) = 0.334.For BB: 1 - (34/46)*(33/45) = 0.458.So to "fade" both draws, the probability is: (1- 0.334)*(1-0.458) = 0.361 which is better than 2 to 1, so thats good at least.Your other option: break. Unfortunately the math isnt as clear here. Here you can make number 2 and number 4: If you make #2, lets say you win 96% of the time. If you make #4 you win 88% of the time. I made these percentages pretty low because it looks like the BB has a strong hand. And also you can make the hand you started with as well.Prob. to make #2 and #4: 1 - (42/46)*(41/45) = 0.168 eachProb. to make original hand: 1 - (43/46)*(42/45) = 0.1275The winning probability of your original hand is the first probability that I calculated: 0.361So all together, your rough winning probability is:(0.96)(0.168) + (0.88)*(0.168) + (0.361)*(0.1275) = 0.355So with these winning percentage estimates, it is slightly better to stay pat. But either way, you are losing more than 50% of the time in a 3-way pot.But once again, as played you can NOT bet this river without a good read.

Stars can be very aggro, thats for sure. You may have missed value here checky, but even aggro donks occasionally wake up with 7s. But I like your line here...because of this. If you cap before the 3rd draw, and if your opponent has something like 87xx2, he might get convinced to break to draw to a 7. So instead of a 100% chance of winning a $110 pot, you now have an 85%ish chance to win a $130 pot. At stars though, it takes a special player for me to break 87xx2. Don't let him slay your dragon...lol
If the guy would never raise-bluff (and its probably unlikely...but I have caught raise-bluffs at 1/2), it is probably a better move. And this 3 bet move...I have done it with 97 and 87 before, its obviously opponent dependent.this is a great post. at first i thought your line was standard, now i think i like b/f on the end. i'll have to think about it some more.the way i view it now his 3 bet after second may be genius. (if you cap he knows he has to break, you may break a better hand, and it allows him to check behind on the river.)
Wow thats bad.he's patted light on the third draw (even a queen once) -
This is a good point checky...when I used to play a crapload of low-limit PLO8 back in the Prima days, one of the favorite things to do was jam all my money in on the flop with a flush/low draw and get top set all pissed off because he figured he was wayyyyyyyyyy ahead. Athough at the stakes I played...that was like an avg. EV of $1.6 in that scenario given $40 buyins...aseem, you have to be a little careful on draw heavy boards with no low draw yourself. remember that a flush draw and low draw is ahead of you in both of these spots (barely, but ahead). -
Donks can get lucky once in awhile...it happens. You should have seen me at the triple draw tables tonight...lol Find a better spot.
-
At this limit, and this ante size I probably muck both of them. Risk a buck on a raise to win 90 cents? Now if the ante was double or triple this...then it might be worth it.

UTG+1 is the raiser...so he probably has A3 + something. But it could easily be as little as A23 which you are crushing at the moment. And you are even beating AA3 at the moment. Raise and then if he 3-bets back, then you can slow down. And if that happens, I raise the turn on a complete brick if he bets into you again. If he has A399, A344, or A322...then thats just unlucky. If he has something like A35 with 2 spades, then thats not good either, but you'll quickly become the fave again if the turn bricks. You have a monster heads up on the flop and there are VERY FEW hands you are significantly behind to that would raise preflop.I'm really kinda surprised everyone advocates jamming this flop. Obv. our low draw is good, but am I not valuing the 2 pr. enough here??? -
Who said we wanted to limit the field? We're raising for VALUE. Live O8 is terrible. We almost certainly have the best hand preflop...2nd best at worst. Make 89KQ pay to see the flop.As for post flop, yeah, i peel one off here, hoping for an ace, 2 or a low diamond. The first problem with this scenario IMO is raising preflop. You are out of position and you are not going to limit the field with this bet. -
Raise flop, jam turn, call river. River sucks, but that happens unfortunately
-
I dunno how "standard" this is. This could be just the nut flush pushing you around. Folding is a safe play...but if UTG really sucks...you could be getting half...or 3/4ths here. If he had A3 diamonds, I would think he might c/r the flop...I know I would...or bet out. At least if you fold here you'll be able to get a fairly cheap read on UTG as he will be forced to showdown.
-
Yeah for high-limit games, I think this is a good play, as long as your opponent isnt an idiot. Your typical opponent isn't limping in with a hand that hits ANY of this board unless he has AKW (W=wheel card)...and he'll let you know if he hit there.
-
Same here with the pounding...may even fold the flop. Depends on the number of callers. Even getting 12-13 to 1 is very marginal here.I would call one bet on the flop maybe, but with this flop i would pound the desk, fold and shake my head. -
I agree. This covers both kinds of opponents very well. I suggest a similar line...but this was only for a player that knew what he was doing...Potting into you so you do raise and he gets all his money in on the flop like he wants to with two cards to come and has an equity edge! Against someone who may not realize you have AA...mr. nice guy's suggestion is very good.i think this is the line. nh -
Out of position, raising this preflop is asking for trouble with no low potential. Late position, pot raises are okay, IMO.As for the original post. This is fine for a 4 way all-in.I usually don't raise my aces without a low or suited ace. am I in the wrong on this?edit: sorry for this general question in your thread -
Since you two are so deep, I would be tempted to wait for a safe turn card. 234x with two clubs is a real threat on the flop here. I know PLO8 at pacific is horrendous...I have played it a few times, and I wish they had lower limits, but still...youre probably a coin flip at best. For this hand though, I think a high non club is a "safe" turn card. Unless he has the balls to call your reraise preflop with KQTx

Jeez...sounds like your flush draw was live...Seems most people are forgetting that it's a 3-way pot.I won't post the other hands (at this point), but when I ran the odds calculator against the 2 other hands I was +EV .62. This was a lot more than I expected, which is the reason I posted this hand. -
Ditto.17-21ish depending on the table and my mood -
I have to disagree here. Hands like 5678 which are acceptable for PLO are much less valuable in Limit Omaha because the guaranteed multiway nature of the game (i.e. any flush draw is no good and you could end up losing to higher straights). I love when I see people play hands like this in Limit Omaha.Start with limit omaha HI. You can play this at the micro limits, high limits, or even for play money since there is really no difference in basic strategy. -
They are a slight favorite against hands designed to "crack aces" usually. Heads up you really aren't making too bad of a decision to get all-in here, unless you're up against a better AA, which is possible but not too likely heads up. I often see retards at the lower limits with 25bb's or less in cash games jam with KKxx which you are a BIG favorite, so this fact alone should make you happy to get your money in the pot with AAxx.

You definitely can argue with numbers because...I guess you cant argue with numbers.
My guess is he factored this in poorly. I say the only post-flop callers are an overpair or trips....or a good low draw. I am definitely not convinced. If all I am drawing to is the nut flush on a paired board, I sure as hell better be getting 6 to 1 or greater, or I think I am bleeding money. And in a tight game, that just isnt happening that often.says nothing about how the betting was conducted post-flop. -
The second is a ridiculously easy fold. The first....ugh...It depends on if you think someone else has A3. I don't mind a fold here, but wouldn't criticize a call here. The repot though worries me that we are already just drawing for half. I would rather wait for a better spot given the action, unless they are donkeys.

If you are going to play it that way...you probably should check/fold the flop too. Why waste money if you're gonna fold when you "hit" anyway?Being 6 handed to the flop...that line isn't a terrible idea though. If the game was shorter, I might be c/r'ing the flop here. I hate bottom set...in multiway pots, check/folding is never a bad play....and definitely the low variance play.fold the turn -
If this was only true...I'd be playing craps all the time....as craps would be +EV....the odds pay 6:5 on a 6 or 8. Game is still pretty fun though...but I am intimidated as hell to play it, and I play pass line only.If you roll the 6 before you roll the 7, you'll double your passline bet and get 3:2 on any bet you place behind the passline bet. (That's known as your odds bet.) -
I don't religiously use this...but my starting hand requirements closely mimic his requirements. It's a decent system to help guide you to appropriate starting hands in full-ring low-limit O8.

I am pretty tight in the SB when facing a raise, so I would muck this predraw. As played, probably muck after the first draw too. As for after the 3rd draw, its probably a check/call. If he just stood pat on only the last draw, then bet/call.
