  2. If you end up finding the article I would definetely like to read it. I understand what you are saying though, one can't get caught up with always thinking they are beat due to some unfortunate turn of events.
  3. Of course I'm not folding top pair everytime someone puts pressure on me but I do have to realize the times I am beat and just toss the hand.
  4. ...is so hard to do sometimes. Not sure if it is due to ego, being tired or tilt. No matter what it's due to I have to refrain from repeating the sames mistakes. I see myself making this error win I either raise with a medocre hand out of position or I miss the flop with a decent starting hand after raising pre-flop.The later isn't really the issue as I am able to get away from losing hands in position much easier than out of position. I may make a continuation bet and the odd second and third bullet but most of the time I can toss the hand if I dont improve or sense strength. When I am out of p
  5. 5 left, sitting in 5th.Completely card dead now and need a miracle...
  6. Whats your Stars name?EDIT: 7 left, sitting in 4th
  7. Come and cheer me on to victory...Currently sitting 2/9. Tourney # 137749570 on Stars.
  8. Agreed that if the Hero's stack is deeper than this would be a better play but as stated above he had left himself with very little to work with once the flop comes out.
  9. In PT2 how do you bring up the graph that you have shown above? I have done this before but can't figure it out right now.
  10. If he had 99 or 88 would hea have re-raised PF?On the flop he opens, UTG min-raises and you call. Would he re-pop with the trips or just call?Have you seen him go nuts with a straight (similar hand) on a scary board?
  11. If your the first one into a pot raise it up, no sense letting others get in cheap. Even if you don't hit the flop, by raising PF you could rep a lot of different hands.
  12. As others have said...1. Don't min-raise OOP with suited connectors 2. Fold to his raise as you will be playing an expensive guessing game majority of the time. His raise PF signifies strong ace (AT+) or a mid-high pocket pair. When he bets the flop it feels like a standard Cbet since you show weakness and I don't mind the float call but you have to ask how would the Villian typically play his flush draws, sets, etc...? If this seems to be inline with any of those hands they you should be prepared to toss it. I actually like the turn card since your flop check-call makes it look like you could
  13. These results are incredible guys and it has given me motivation to really work on my game in 2009. For 2008 I only played a lot (for me) during the first three months and the last two months of '08 and probably made around $1500. I am currently playing $25NL and hope to be at the $100NL level in the next three months. Also in addition to increasing the bankroll during the coming year I am making my NY resolution to read and contribute to the strategy forums on FCP. Best of luck to all in '09.JoeyFinngars
  14. Based on my time with him at the table he would pay me off with a worse Q even as low as Q 5. I know he wasn't bluffing throughout as his line did not indicate this. If I check the river or bet smaller he will most likely put a raise in for the rest of my stack. I truly should have raised the turn and put him at a decision instead of just pushing the river.
  15. I could use some thoughts on this hand, specificall the turn call by me. 16. I find it funny that he is complaining about the way poker has evolved over the past 4 years. As poker players are we not supposed to adapt and change our play based on the table dynamics. He altered his play in 2003-2004 when it became clear others were playing too tight, so he started to become more aggressive. Now that others have made this change he is upset!?!If the overall style is raise/re-raise then play less hands, pick the spots to exploit this and play smaller pots. People have an image of Kevin as a hyper-aggressive player and if he was to completely flip his play (i.e. TAG instead
  17. Happy Birthday to a fellow Canadian!Have a good one ehh...
  18. They do not have to be true donakments though as we can make the structure such that it allows a decent amount of play.
