smashs system has a loophole!!
JSCME replied to looshle's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
This system has never worked for me. Mainly because I cant stick to it. I'll play AKoff, flop TP/TK and get stomped. I'll play A10suited, flop two pair and get reamed. I'll get AA, go allin, and everyone at the table laughs at me. -
I tend to play rather tight passive preflop on NL tables. I would limp preflop and then raise the flop. I dont want to give odds to the flush chaser behind me. Assumming I called the flop I would reraise the raise anywhere from 3-4x his raise. He will probably go allin then and hit his draw on the river.***Now that I've read results I see that he didnt hit his draw. Nice.

Fold Preflop. Then move the post to the "Who Cares?" forum.

For me this is where the min raise is my friend. I would min raise the flop for value. Then virtually always allin on the turn. This does give odds to anyone who may be on a crappy str8 draw. Small risk though.

I absolutely hate the push on the flop. Unless the board is double-suited, it screams "I dont have the queen!" More often than not, and depending on the villian, I will check. If he bets, I reraise allin (if I am relatively sure he doesn't have the Q).

Call an unraised pot preflop.Bet the flop, fold to a raise.

I was going to raise my post count by posting some good banking advice after 6 years in the industry. Damn you Ron for beating me to it. You suck. That is not a request.+1 anyway, dammit.

looks like someone's pokerbot isn't working quite right.

Based on his betting, I would put him on possibly JJ or A2 (unlikely though). HE bet 4x preflop wchich would indicate a decent hand (ie something that has HERO beat preflop). Fold the turn raise. If he has JJ or any 2 then there is no way that he will NOT slowplay it on the flop.

KJ can often get you into trouble. That being said, I would raise the flop in this position. If villian comes over the top, then reconsider the fold.
-
I'd say you played it fine. No prob calling that allin on the turn. The fact that he raised the flop would seem to indicate that he wasnt chasing the flush (although I will occassionally try and get tricky by raising on the draw in order to get more action if it hits). He did get the boat on the river, right?

I played for over a year at ONLY Paradise. Moved to Absolute and UB this last summer. Now I realize just how slow the software at Paradise runs. Sitting through the the cards being dealt is just painful now. Especially when playing Omaha.

Yeah, i would have been scared of a flush draw. I normally overbet w/ top pair (or even a set sometimes) simply because I HATE getting screwed by a flush. I know I could get more money by betting just enough to get him to chase, but I get steamed so bad when the flush hits that I will normally donk off the rest of my chips.

And this is a crapshoot how? The party tourns aren't fun to play, but if you play it tight (sucks as posting/folding) you can make it to the final 3 pretty damn easily.

So, is 45x the normally accepted BR for NL games? I tend to follow more of a 20-25x max buy-in for my BR.
