  1. I guess I was analyzing the wrong part of the hand. I hadn't even considered the odds I was presenting to the big stack ignoring the BB.My game is fairly LAG (or so I like to think) so I might be making A reraise there with any two cards. Assuming that, what would a better reraise be - to 40K?Sidenote: This was actually my first time playing in the PP Million (or any tourney with a buy-in over $100) so my game definitely could improve. Thanks for the advice, it is greatly appreciated.
  2. He had raised 3 straight hands and I felt I was ahead of him and was hoping to take it down pf (I still feel I was ahead him). It was just unfortunate the BB woke up with a real hand apparently.
  3. This hand was from today's PP Million...Just moved to table one orbit ago, so no real reads. Only standout is that big stack has raised past 3 hands.Blinds at 2000/4000 w/ ante. I'm in SB.Big stack raises from MP (3 off button) to 10K. I repop from SB to 25K. BB thinks for a while then goes all in for another 31K approx. I folded thinking his range was (with my limited information/read) 10-10+ AQ+. My issues is that I folded getting nearly 3-1 on my money which I don't think is a good move, even though it was for more than half of my stack and would have essentially crippled me. BTW, at that
  4. Is there someplace I could find a list for all of the North Cali Casinos that spread poker games? I'm in Berkeley for the summer and am looking to check them out. Also, any information on how the play compares to the Atlantic City casinos (which is famously bad), specifically at the lower limits? Thanks
  5. He posts quite a bit on P5s under ActionJeff (go figure), he seems to have a pretty good head on his shoulders and poker wisdom beyond his years.
  6. I know this is super premature - and I doubt it'll even be an issue since DN's the one in charge of this tourney - but any word as to starting stack/blind structure?
  7. IGM-PAY has been much more convenient, for me at least. And a buddy of mine who signed up on PP was able to play the beginners tables for approx. 1 month (if its based off of raked hands then its relatively high because he probably got in about 1500 raked hands the first two weeks alone).
  8. I'm too lazy to add up all the figures from the previous matches...any idea on how much DN is down overall to ATW?
  9. I agree somewhat, but its not THAT major of a change. I've noticed more of a change when it gets shorthanded (5 or fewer people) because now the 10 minute levels mean that you are playing 15+ hands per level as opposed to the standard 10 hands/level that it used ot be. The change in starting stacks/blinds still leaves you starting with 50BBs as opposed to the 53 that you previously start with. However, the fact that any non-donk poker player should be able to easily survive til its 6 or 7 handed (low limit SNGs - barring a bad beat, or some bad luck once in a while), and it does make the stru
  10. Just in case anyone wanted to see an interesting table: Table 13 has Chipleader and 2nd in chips for the entire tourney one seat apart both with approx 120K and then 2 people at 50K+ and still one more at 40K plus...thats a lot of chips.
  11. After thinking about it that was the only hand I could imagine you doing that with though I thought you might also have needed the K of diamonds? Ya have that diamond K too?
  12. Grinder what'd you just have there? I'm a bit confused... you raised from 1st, got a MP caller and BB to call then checked the A high flop with 2 diamonds and bet 1/2 pot when the turn brought a third diamond. And goodluck, hope you do well.
  13. Playing $50NL on party, raise preflop with QQ, called by button. Flop comes out QJJ. Bet, get raised, I reraise and he goes all in. He flips over K 10, turn and river blank and I rake in the pot.He types: "You're so lucky I didn't hit an A or a 9."I type haha, but delete it before sending, type you're an idiot, then delete it before sending...ended up going with "Yeah, that sucks man. Can't win em all." and promptly added him to names to search for when playing.Cheers.
  14. Haha, way to have the other guy in the pot save you from runner runner. Now its time to take it down.
  15. that was brutalA8 v A7 all in preflop, guy rivered a straight against pupsta
  16. GL Pupsta...how'd you end up doing in last night's 100+9?
  17. Hey i'm following pupsta's table as well as evybabee's and i was pretty surprised too...maybe he didn't notice that he was actually beat on the turn when the guy hit 2nd pair with the nut flush draw? Or maybe he thought he could bet the guy of the nuts? (sw)Gl Pupsta, take it down.
  18. Hard to repeat what hasn't already been said, and its all great advice. I'm currently on a downswing as well in 2/4 Limit, and the one thing i've tried is playing a different game, but also one where the money doesn't matter as much (for instance, since my downswing, i've started playing the little 1+.20 45 person SnG's, or the 5 +.5 SnG's on stars). You get to keep playing poker, have some fun with something different, and it gets your mind off of your losses. Also, winning or losing won't make that much of a difference to you, so feel free to take your tilt out on your opponents.Good Luck.
  19. $500 playin 2/4 on Party - Ironically again after a 3 day stretch clearing nearly $1000...Question...after your biggest loss...did you guys take a break, and for how long?
  20. What happened to the rest of this hand?IMO I think he has a hand like KKc, even possibly any KK, but even against a hand like AcKc you are still a 2-1 favorite...I push. But I suck. Results?
  21. I think the reason that Chan hasn't received any votes yet is because he A) hasn't written a monster book (like doyle's supersystem though he's popular for other reasons too)B) He hasn't received that much television time from ESPN on WSOP broadcasts (and even when he does he doesn't have an outlandish personality like hellmuth or matusow).C) No real popular blog for online followers.IMO
  22. Just thought I'd let you guys know that I'm actually playing poker with him tonight. His name is Adam Friedman, and his younger sis goes to IU where I currently attend and he'll be playing in a little weekly game we have down here while visiting. If I take a beat or if I get outflushed like he did I'm totally pulling the "but I played perfect for 2 straight hours!" before stamping out of the room and leaving. Any other suggestions for how to screw with this guy? Oh, btw, he actually ended up placing around 43rd, good for like $250,000...so I guess he's not a total donk.-Mark
  23. Skipeddoda and Indiana Chris,i'm a college guy out in Indiana University (Bloomington, bout 3 hours from evansville). I usually play 3-6 or 4-8 online, but get bored once in a while and want to go to B&M casino. I'm from NJ so we'd usually just go to AC when we had that prob, but I haven't tried any in Indiana. My roommate and I were going to drive up to Windsor for a weekend because we're both only 20 (though we have "proper" aka fake, identification). i was wondering if you guys knew how strict they are out here at the Indiana casinos and how good game selection is/what casinos to go to.
