His blog said he wouldn't enroll again if he cashed for more than $500,000. He chopped and got $650,000, so I'd assume he's not going back. He also won one of the $1,000 prelim tournaments for $123,000.seems like a pretty solid player...and i doubt he will be reenrolling at Bama this Fall like his website said (and I graduated from UT, so I wont hold it against him either) -
That was filthy. Absolutely filthy.

That post wasn't very funny for a stand up comic.Oh please...DN has actually won more money than almost all of the players that we see on TV...well I am sure Doyle over the years can claim that title. This point is moot. You all are arguing over something that really makes no sense. How come you don't see anyone suing about the "High Stakes Poker" show? They use there images all of the time. The final fact is this...you sign a contract...you must abide by it's rules. If you don't like it you don't sign it. These people did sign and now they are pissed off because they know there is more money to be made.Do you not think WPT pays alot of money to get all of the things to promote their shows? It is a business deal.Me being a stand up comic can refuse to do a gig if the money is not right or I don't like the setting. These people had that same right and they signed the paper...hopefully after reading it...and in the end they are still bound by a contract.Simple as that.Dave -
Why would Daniel lie about being up? So he can pay taxes on money he didn't win? Genius!Losing players always claim to be up.Ironically, I picture you up DN's *** being one of his sheep on this site. You lot remind me of Michael Jackson fans who suddenly ended up claiming it was all right to sleep with young boys. -
I understand completely what people are fighting over. Trying to change the release may be a good thing, period, but if there are poker players who disagree with any part of the lawsuit (whether it be with its goal, timing, other repercussions that come with it or anything else), don't claim you are speaking for everyone when you aren't.no, you don't even understand what people are fighting over. Some players think bringing the lawsuit is a bad thing, this is debatable. NOBODY likes the WPT release, they might accept it, but I guarantee you 100% of poker players would vote for the release to be changed if they had a vote. The reason Daniel doesn't like it, at least from what I can see, is that the lawsuit will bring bad attention to poker in general. Trying to change the release is a good thing, period, some may disagree with the methods, but if they succeed it will be good for all players. -
Not funny, not witty and not true.Bingo, bango, bongo!no one wants to see those rags, just put them in the much where only you could see them (since that's where you belong) -
Whether or not it is a good thing for players right now is something the players are split over. If those seven wanted to bring the suit to benefit themselves, but to do it claiming to speak for all poker players is completely different.they are standing up to the WPT with their own money to try and change something that does/will negatively impact all present/future players of WPT. How can you say what gives someone the right to fight for someone else, whether Daniel agrees with the "timing" of it or not, even he has to agree that if the players force the WPT to change the release, it's a good thing for all players. -
Hi Most People, I'm Bryan. Nice to meet you.I think to most people claiming that a world champion is better than someone who is not a world champion is at the very least an arguable position and far from retarded. You seem to be very dogmatic on this point. If I understand you correctly, you are discounting Raymer's accomplishment as an abberation of luck. On that basis, poker is simply luck and then you are correct that it is pointless to argue, because we might as well argue who is the best bingo player. -
Personal opinions about the suit set aside, what gives seven people the right to fight for present and future poker players?the players aren't just fighting for themselves. It's been said that these players are only complaining now that there is value to their likeness and that they are famous, which is true. Phil has stated that they aren't just fighting for themselves, they are fighting for the players that haven't become famous yet, who may win their first WPT event and find their fact plastered all over boxes of WPT cereal or WPT tampons without prior knowledge. -
I'm bulimic. You can read minds?Glad to see that you have the ability to read minds -
So is Craig Counsell. He is a much better shortstop than Miguel Tejada. One is a world champion. One is not.
Actually, it's just a strong argument against Darwinism.I think this is the reason that there needs to be some sort of qualifying events in order to be involved in the "Main Event". Too many people only believe what they hear on ESPN and think that World Champion of Poker = the best of the best. This is actually only one tournament. What should actually be looked at is the Player of the Year for that year as I believe DN won that when Raymer won the ME (correct me if I'm wrong here). AS far as figuring out the best of the best one only needs to look to the best high stakes game, but for Tournament Poker and being able to just say that one is a world champion is redonkulous. So basically you are saying that:Joseph Hachem, Greg Raymer, Chirs Moneymaker, and Robert Varkoni are all better players than DN because they are "world champions". You are delusional. My .02 -
Because you touch yourself.

No, no, no. That's Victor Ramdin.Ok-maybe more Vijay Singh. But the point, as you well know, is that although Raymer does not dominate like Woods does in golf he is a World Champion and you would expect him to beat a fish. One would expect any winner of a Major to beat DN at golf and they would lick their lips playing him for money. -
No, that's Phil Ivey. Geez, don't you know anything? So you're saying Greg Raymer is the Tiger Woods of poker? -
He calls the OP ignorant for having an opinion. He calls Daniel's POV unintelligent. He says Daniel has no idea about the legality of the case when in fact Daniel has said he's talked to multiple lawyers about the case.Phil didn't come off as a jackass, but I don't know if I'd say he took the high road.I think Phil has come off great in all of these. And in this one, I think he makes a few good points about the lawsuit itself. Kudos to Phil for not taking the low-road. -
I wouldn't care if it was just a publicity stunt, so long as multiple millions went to research. Sure, Harrah's would benefit due to the positive publicity they'd get, but more importantly, the charity would benefit. But if you look at the reverse implied odds people would see through the obvious publicity stunt and it would have the opposite intended effect. Maybe I'm just giving people too much credit. -

Give him an option. Either he works the money off in a couple of summers like you said earlier or let him know you will pursue legal action and go to Bank of America. The above post makes it seem like both choices punish him and allow for you to get back the $10,000.Tough story, bro.Just wanted to mention that Bank of America is really good at protecting you when your money was accessed without your permission. You should call them. Although when it happened to me, they said they would persue legal action if they found out who did it, so you might want to consider that as well. In any case, if you explain to them what happened, they are good at discussing your options. -
Five bracelets by the age of 30, recognition from his peers as one of the, if not the, best player in the Big Game and winning $16 million off Andy Beal. Yeah, I'd say he has a lot to prove.Compare Ivey to someone like say, T.J. Cloutier. He's been around longer, played more poker than Ivey could dream of, won more tournaments and has more respect (I believe) of and the chops to back it up.How come no one looks at that anymore?Ivey is the "Tiger Woods" of poker, but he's yet to prove himself as far as I'm concerned. I hate using that Tiger Woods line, really, but it's how Ivey is perceived. Sure, he's a mean lean poker machine, but he's got a long way to go, as long as he doesn't burn out before he gets there.I don't want this to turn into an Ivey bash-off or comparison, I'm just stating my opinions about him. He can do it, of that I'm quite sure. The question is: will he back down when the time comes and not overplay at the crucial moment like he always seems to do?bbEdited to fix a booboo I made, I admit it. -
I recommend you withdraw your entire bankroll and spend it on pottery lessons.

No. These poker players claim to be doing this for poker players everywhere, not for them. That is where a big part of Daniel's issue seems to be. If the players planned on bringing a lawsuit with intentions of bettering conditions for poker players they should have consulted with the people who the lawsuit will affect. It doesn't make sense to speak for the masses when a number of them do not agree with you.LolDoes calling me a punk make you feel better? If it does I am happy for you.The world does not revolve around Daniel no matter how much he wants it to be, do you understand that? Raymer and the rest have the ABSOLUTE RIGHT to do what they think is right and in this case, they think suing WPT is the right thing to do. Who is Daniel to tell them that they are wrong? Their actions can negatively impact his way of living? Believe me, keeping Daniel in his comfortable lifestyle is the last thing on their minds. They are doing what is best for them.Daniel, do what you think is best for YOU and stop worrying about the things that you cannot control. If the government shuts down online gaming, they shut it down. Who cares? There will be more fishes swimming to a casino near you, ripe for picking so don't even lose sleep about it. -
