  1. **** you man, calling me a troll. Why the hell would you say you were going to give anyone who saw you play $100 if you couldnt do it, sounds like a pretty stupid ****ing thing to do. Why wouldn't you say, "if anyone catches me I'll give a large stake to the community" which is what you are doing. You shouldn't make promises you can't keep man, that's all i'm saying, I can't believe everyone is jumping all over your nutsack for this.
The real question is how is it possible for someone to care about this so much that they make the fuss you are ...
  2. Because there's never been an Op-Ed piece written in the history of journalism where ethics were put aside for the purpose of being satirical, cutting, or otherwise. Lighten up. Seriously. 1. There's no ethical dilemma here. 2. You're a knob. I can say this will full confidence because if something like that article made you write an overinflated criticism then you clearly are wound too tight for this forum. If the website promotes the fact that it brings you poker news on a serious front, the article obviously needs to be taken down. Otherwise, see my first post in this thread for further comment regarding that. Horrendous journalism from an ethical/responsible standpoint is when the Boston Herald put a giant picture of a dead girl on the front page after the Boston Police shot her in the eye with a rubber bullet following a playoff game. Maybe that'll put things in perspective for ya.
Do you know anything about journalism? It's something I take pretty seriously as a large portion of journalism in the United States is bad to horrible. Do you even know the difference between an op-ed piece and reporting on event? What the OP posted clearly wasn't an op-ed piece. It was reporting on the World Series event. That's the ethical dilemma you said is non-existent. It'd be like if a reporter for the Boston Herald would have spend his entire article covering the game lambasting Bonds for using steroids and arguing he doesn't belong in the HOF, with just minimal reporting on the 10-2 Red Sox win. I've seen many links to the Web site through FCP. It comes across as a site that wants to be a legit source for news/tournament updates in the poker community. I remember everyone in here being completely up in arms when Bluff wrote what they did about DN in Tunica. That was fine. But when it's about a different player it's time to, "lighten up" apparently. Yes, that Boston case you referenced is on a much more serious subject than this, but both are examples of bad journalism. I get the feeling that the writers for this Web site are learning a lot of what they know on the fly, and teaching them that it's okay to publish stuff like that because it's not about murder isn't the way to go.I may have been a bit harsh in what I wrote, but my point was right on. The writers for the Web site seem to really want to learn about journalism, and constructive criticism would have been a better option. That didn't come to my mind after a night of drinking though.
  3. let me say something right here:i think, as most know, that 24 is the best tv show out there, by far. I love every season and 5 was no exception. the budget for season 5 (i think its a little higher now) was 3 million per episode which is a lot, but not too much for an hour long show that uses a lot of expensive items with many actors. The whole sequence of the plane landing on the high way was a cool idea but it looked like a cartoon-i realize it is a tv show with a limited budget but i thought that scene looked horrible and they should have not shown the outside of the plane, but just everybody on the inside.
I agree the airplane was executed horribly, but I also hated the idea. The season was still great to watch, and I can't wait for January 14, but not quite as good as the first 3.
  4. critics and fans seem to agree that S5 was the best
I don't read what critics say, but most everyone I know thinks 1-3 are the best three seasons of the series.Season 5 just got too over the top. Gregory Itzen was fantastic, but I wasn't a fan of the president involved in terrorist acts. Also, Jack landing a plane on the highway is probably the most absurd moment in the series.
  5. I'm in the same situation you have posted about. I took a $20 no deposit nec. bonus and worked it up to about $450 in about 90 hours of play. Its not alot to some, but its alot for me, and it will put me closer to the black this year for poker in general. (I'm in the red about 400 or so from live poker this year). This is what im going to do, and for anyone else please feel free to comment on my plan, but i intend to cash out $400 to make sure i come out ahead for all the time i spent on this, and then use the $50 to climb back up to where you are now, and then start to build your roll and attempt to move up limits within time. I think its important to at least give yourself back something to show for your time, instead of taking the risk of blowing it all without nothing to show for it.
If you cash out $400, you're just asking to lose the remaining $50.
