  1. It might be a bit arrogant but look at it from another's sports perspective. In baseball the guys at the Triple-A level were more than likely the best players when they were in little league. Most likely the absolute best players at their high school. Probably the star of their district All-Star teams. If they went to school, they were the stars of their college team and they were the stars of their A and AA teams. So it makes sense that one of the best players in the world would always, always be the best player in the game. Greenstein didn't have the help of forums or poker books so he didn'
  2. As long as the house is not taking a rake, having a poker game is legal in texas, while yes we would be walking a fine line, it wouldn't be illegal
  3. Hey guys, Me and 2 friends are looking at purchasing property in downtown Tyler and starting up a private poker club. We would do it up right with TVs and couches and super nice tables and chairs and everything else. We are thinking about charging $100 a month but we would not take a rake or anything like that and we would still offer free drinks and other things. Do y'all think that this idea would get any traction around the area? and would any of y'all be interested in joining if this gets off the ground?
  4. I've been running really bad lately, I mean really bad. I was wondering if y'all had some advice for getting my game back on track. I'm a fairly good player but this is the longest loosing streak that I have ever been on and when you are in college a long loosing streak is extremely hard on your roll. I'm not sure what to do to get back to winning; any advice would be greatly appreciated
  5. Do you have any idea how much the top 5% of the country pays in taxes? the Top 5% of the Country pays 90% of the entire countries taxes. Yeah the rich make a lot of money but they give the majority of jobs to people. Stoping being ignorant and spinning party lines
  6. When you've got 40 hours a week at work plus 20-30 hours a week playing cards and the average person sleep 7 hours a night which is 49 hours a week so that is 109-119 hours a week that she can't be a part of. Give her the time she needs and she'll give you the time you need for poker
  7. Don't forget the Titleist wedges and the Callaway Fusion driver
  8. Just a curious question from another avid golfer. What's in DN's bag?
  9. odds are the reporting line is $1,760 becuase that is what you can make in a year and not have to report it. thanks i was curious to know if they did give out 10-99 or w2's
  10. This is a curious question as you can tell i'm a finance major so i wonder about these things. How do taxes work on poker winnings at a casino? i'm have not been able to go to one yet and i was wondering since i'll be going to atlantic city in october, and i want to know what to expect.
  11. It's a home game but i've only met one of these guys so i'll be going into this game pretty blind as to who will be there and thier style of play.
  12. In about 2 weeks i'll be stepping into the biggest game of my life, a nl-holdem cash game with a minimum buy-in of $50 and max of $100. I know this might seem like small stakes for most of y'all but for a college student who is normally very poor this is a pretty big game. I am a decent player, I am fundamentally sound and my people reading skills are decent. Is there any advise or tips that the more experienced players could offer me as i go into this game?
