  1. Fedex came this morning with a beautiful cheque for $1410.44. I can breathe easy now, but now I have to go through a horribly long process of cashing the cheque, waiting a super long time for it to clear since I have a Canadian account, then waiting another long time for it to go back through to Neteller. That sucks, but I can't be mad. I got my money. Unless the cheque bounces or something, at which time I'll be ready to die since this is over 50% of the total money I have.
  2. ok, how about this one. I have J10 on the button and raise, sb and bb both call. flop is JJ9. sb bets, bb raises. A flat call here would look very suspicious though there are draws available. A reraise might scare them out.
  3. Any chance of getting a Neteller deposit instead of a check? I have $1500 in my account, I don't want to wait for that check. wtf Pokershare. ****.
  4. hmm, maybe marginal is the wrong word. I get really agressive on the flop with draws, even inside draws if I have additional outs. I looooove a free turn card.
  5. 6 max, agressive, loose or tight depending on the game, but definetly agressive. Not idiotically agressive, I'm no maniac, but I feel that "maniac" is the table image I portray a lot of the time, which I like a lot.An example of the kind of hand I am talking about:This happened today and inspired this threadI raised from the button with 78 suited which i do often, and got a reraise from the small blind, which doesn't happen that often, so he has a hand, a big one I think. He's doing the auto-raise thing that people always do with aces. I call the raise, flop is 569 rainbow. He bets out as I e
  6. So I'm having this big rush at 2/4 where my bankroll has shot up considerably. I've been playing online for a couple years, and I am now ready to start moving my way up the ranks. I think my success is largely a result of making this goal since I have been focusing more while playing, and playing really well. But there is inevitably a downswing on the horizon. My question is whether I should move up to 3/6 if my current rush pushes my bankroll to an adequate bankroll for that limit ($1800 would be good right?, 300bb), or should I stay at 2/4 for a while and see what happens before making my m
  7. Unfortunately I have studied more of my poker play than my accounting textbook today, and I have a couple topics to speak on, I'll probably start another thread right after this. Anyway, I've been on a good upswing in 2/4 6max LH games, I've set up my first rakeback account on Pokershare and put all my money there except for a bit at Full Tilt because I love that place. Anyway I've had success in MTTs and SNG before, with 7 final table appearances at FT (no wins, can't close the deal), among those some big cashes for me. But normally I lose at tourneys. They are a big drain on my bankroll exce
  8. When I play limit I bet and reraise a lot of flops with marginal hands, so when I flop a monster I play it pretty fast also to get a lot of bets and not appear suspicious. I think that's pretty standard. But I was wondering how you decide to get as much money in the pot as possible when flop a monster. Your opponent's tendencies obviously are a big factor, but what else. BTW I am not good at explaining myself so tell me if more explanation is needed.
  9. wait, nevermind, I think this has been a learning experience. While I was crushing 6 max 2/4 before, I think I just improved a noteworthy amount as a result of this ultra aggressive stint. Picked up a couple things playing like that. haha and the reason I have such an optimistic look at this is that I just broke even.
  10. I am currently playing 6 handed 2/4 drunk and losing terribly. Pretty sure I'm running bad this session though. Losing to a running full house for a big pot on the first hand didn't help for my monster drunk tilt though. I'm playing like a maniac. Is there a chance I have the best hand here? bet. Will they fold? bet. This session I never have the best hand and by now no one is folding to my raises. Down $150
  11. I read a little bit of this book in the bookstore today, looked pretty good. The part I read most was the Best Online Winner (BOW) (I think) part. It described the style of an online player who Phil considers to be the best online player. I know that guy got ripped on for talking about a play on words a couple days ago, but that one was ridiculous. In the book, I noticed a more obvious one maybe that said the player he was referring to was Spirit Rock. This would make sense since Prahlad uses that name on FT, the site Gordon is a part of. Anyone read this or have any thoughts on it?
  12. Do you people get points every time you tell someone they are playing out of their bankroll, or that its bad to tell bad players they are playing poorly? shut the **** up. It was a story. People are not intelligent.
  13. i bet 3c7c in small blind and complete with two limpers and bb seeing the flop. 37x with one club comes the flop, i lead out, two calls, club hits turn, I check, next position raises, other person folds, i check raise, they call. river is a club, I have a seven high flush, I bet, get reraised. what now?
  14. Although many of you may be intelligent poker players, a lot of you are not smart people in general. If you couldn't figure out that this wasn't the poster's article without seeing it on Cardplayer, you are stupid. If you saw it on Cardplayer, gasped, and felt like you needed to return to FCP to inform everyone of this horrendous academic crime, you are stupid. If you felt the need to tell the poster that he was wrong for not citing his source in proper bibliographic form, stupid. As I have not read the article, the original post was interesting to me and nearly every single post after that w
  15. Online, I sit there with a calculator and see how much I'm up/down. I tried tape over the screen but i just rip it off. Is anyone else like this?
  16. Honestly I think those zip hoodies should fit a bit big. I have the same one in black. Its an XL, and Im 5'10"-5'11", 145 lbs. It's not that big on me.
  17. Wow I just read the first page, and those were some terrible analogies. The ones like "Should we all stop drinking because some people are alcoholics?" What the hell are you thinking? A more accurate analogy would be something like, "Is it moral for a drug dealer for a drug dealer to sell crack to a crackhead so that he can profit from other's addiction?" That question is also up for debate in my mind, so I think the OP is a good one. As for my opinion, I'm not sure, but I will continue to play. I guess I'm a jerk.
  18. I want in, full table though. And I'm drunk. You all lose.
  19. Other than some shirts you get from FPPs at various sites which are ok since it just a logo or something, every poker shirt I have ever seen makes me embarassed to be known as a poker player.
  20. it seems like I call that every single time, and they have my hand destroyed everytime. Biggest pot I've ever lost was a situation like this. In a live game (1/2 NL), I raise to 5 in first postion with QQ. Reraise to 15, 3 callers including sb, I call. Flop is 8JQ, sb pushes all in, I think for a long time, call, everyone folds, he has 9 10, no board pairs, I lose. I have tons of examples like this and none where I call and win, though I probably just don't remember those.
  21. if anyone cares at all about some guy named DLizzle at the final table of a 24+2 on Full Tilt, you can watch me now.
  22. Last night when i posted this, man was I pissed. I did look at PokerTracker for a while though, I think I'll have a good study session later. Only thing is that it doesn't support PS. I have leaks that I can fix yes, but one dominating factor I noticed in my stats is the amount of rake I've paid. Holy shit. I'm gonna stop playing limit online now. I think I'll hit the tourament circuit, play some nl cash games, and improve my PLO and O8/b play.
  23. I can't express to you my anger in words. Ok so this is just another losing story, but holy shit I'm steaming. I just had a 65bb losing session 4 tabling 1/2 limit holdem on PokerStars and Full Tilt. Not so horrible in itself, but I literally can't beat this game. I've been playing limit holdem for about 3 years now, and I've been obsessed with poker since the beginning. I've read books, I've played live, and I've put in tons of hands online. In my fairly undisiplined past by some of your standards with regards to tilting, br management and all the things a beginning poker player starts out w
  24. first i have to get one thing straight. Against a queen, do i not have 14 outs? (2 eights, 3 nines, and 9 diamonds)? This actually makes me a slight favourite over a queen, coin flip. (51, 49) In this tournament, nearly every hand that had a flop ended up with someone all in. So here's what actually happened next. I check, hoping for a slight chance at a free card which would make my decision much easier, I'm calling anything from one player, and folding to a bet and a call or raise. Player behind me pushes all in, he has a slightly bigger stack than mine, next player folds, I call. Now lookin
