  1. ya i guess it is pretty big. raise the flop though.
  2. Id personally reraise preflop, then bet flop and go from there. I'm raising the flop. You played this ridiculously tight to me. Six handed, with a raise from the button, you just call then check fold the flop of undercards. Am i crazy in calling this a bad play?
  3. get more aggressive or fold, pot's not big enough to call down.
  4. For two, I agree, although I raise so it doesn't apply.
  5. I really like the reraise from the blinds with a bet on the flop. That's a blind defense to me. Why call? Turn raise depends on my read and what I think they will do with AK, AQ AJ if that's what I think they have. I'm leaning towards a bet though, so I like your play.PS nice river
  6. hmmm. For me, things start to come into question with the turn three bet. I don't like that one. preflop and river are no brainers, I like the turn lead, but the three bet with three of you in the hand isn't necessary to me. I don't think a value bet is justified here, and it doesn't appear to me like it's pushing anyone out.
  7. For the discussion on capping the flop. In these situation, I like to lean towards being a maniac. I've tried both, and the maniac image is awesome, plus many people give you a free card on the turn there. Plus if you hit, its a nice pot plus you still look like a maniac to many people. I cap this every time.
  8. usually their flop raise means, hey, i know you don't have a 10 since not many people (I do) raises with a 10 there, so im gonna bluff you out. Rarely do they have the ten in this spot. Call him down.
  9. I disagree. It may be weak, but we're getting 3.5 to 1 to see a flop, so we'd like to play a lot of hands in this range.Your advice (3-betting preflop and autobetting the flop) means we're spending 3 bets to win 4.5, so we'll have to win a lot more often to make this profitable. 3-betting preflop will never cause MP3 to fold, and will make the pot big enough for him to chase some weak draws. So even when we hit top pair, it will often be correct for him to call a flop bet if we've 3-bet preflop, while calling would be a mistake if we had just called preflop.eh maybe, not my style though. BT
  10. I like preflop raise, flop you made the right play easily, turn I'd raise and call him down. Let him bet a weaker hand into you and lose the minimum when he hit his set or his weak ace hit the kicker. If you feel in your gut that he is slowplaying, check calling the turn and river is ok since you're not really protecting anything. That's kinda weak though.
  11. ya i realized the table thing was wrong after I posted. Having no risk of ruin is pretty conservative to me at 25/50, 50/1 though.
  12. If you think you're defending, three bet preflop, bet the flop, see what happens. Just calling and seeing if you hit/miss is a bit weak I think.
  13. Not meaning to break the celebration, and I might be wrong, but aren't you being a bit overly conservative with your bankroll? When I hit 1200 I moved to 2/4 6 max. Only two tables though, maybe you 8 table or something?
  14. anyway, anyone agree with my comment about not betting the flop? I don't see any value in it personally, but I suppose one could make a case for it. Can anyone?
  15. sorry, you bet the flop. Could you actually not figure that out or were you just being a dick.
  16. Although I almost always bet the flop after raising preflop, I don't like raising into that board with that hand in that position. There are two cards out there that are likely cards for people to possibly pair, straight draws, flush draws, etc. You have no draws. In a crazy game, what is the purpose of this raise?
  17. calling the flop does allow your opponent to buy a free card, but if he has a heart and two overcards, you're in big trouble, and that's why you want to see a cheap turn card. I'd say the rest of this hands plays out based on the turn card. If its safe, bet and his heart draw has worse odds to call than if you would have reraised the flop. If it's very unsafe, check fold. If it's just an overcard, check call.So if he checks behind you on the turn, and the river is safe, check call definetly since he's a tricky player. If the river is not safe, you can safely check fold since the pot isn't too
  18. Online: was around 1500 until Pokershare shipped me my check. For the next few days its $5o on Pokerstars, until I get another $500 that is currently in transit from the bank to Neteller. If Pokershare didn't shut down I would have kept the full 1500 online but I couldn't bear to get rid of 75% of my bank account. Was playing 2/4 6 max limit, and 5-50 tourneys for fun, not sure what I'll do now. Live: Whatever I can afford to lose when a game or casino trip comes up.
  19. sorry i was sb, he raised, i reraised, bb folded. I do not like the push/fold thinking. That seems like a weak play to me. My reraise was to see what he had, plus I knew he wouldn't call with bare overcards unless he hit. I did give him the odds to call though. I want 1st and only 1st here. Payout is 400 200 100.
  20. I've been playing limit tourneys recently, but I keep bubbling. I'm playing well but pretty much the way I would in a cash game. What are the major adjustments that should be made in a limit tourney?
  21. It's the final three of a live 24 person tourney, I have 15000, guy to my left has 6000 and guy to my right has 14000. I have made a big comeback from being severely short stacked to dominating the final table. I basically showed down a lot of bluffs and bad hands at the beginning then started hitting and got paid off every single time.So I'm sb with blinds at 500/1000, UTG folds, button who is pretty tight, not a great player though he knows whats going on. He raises to 2500, i reraise to 6000 with 66. Could have been more but don't want to risk too much preflop against his stack which could
  22. haha I've had people in live games call my river bet with a busted draw, JUST to show the table that they in fact were playing a draw and got so unlucky as to miss it.
  23. The newbies are considered stupid because they may not post here often and don't know what douchebags you people are. Also a vet could make that type of post, hidden under a veil of something else and it would be cool. In my personal opinion, I think a lot of newbies are stupid. But I also think a lot of the veterans are even bigger idiots. Basically people in general are of low intelligence, and the people that post here and stay for a while seem to not even meet that low standard. You might be pretty good at poker (maybe not), but you definetly suck at life.PS. If you're proud of the fact t
  24. Reducing Variance = -EVLoose Table Image = +EVapply that to this discussion however you want. As for this specific hand, a lot depends on the betting. They may have both made the right play.
  25. well if you have a flush draw with 57, even if DN is on a bluff, he probably still has you beat. In the late stages of tournament the call was ok, but this is a cash game. He was gambling, thats what he does. And the 3s, DN can be aggressive if he reads Sam for less than a made flush or higher set, since he is a favourite against anything else. Also, he can make a full house or four threes still.
